Not saying that I know what motivated people who have been dead for hundreds of years but....I am pretty sure the founding fathers only wanted White Europeans to be able to become citizens.

Im sure when the 14th was written they knew there would be more than just whites
comimg here. The FF may not have written it but our gov. did.

It doesnt say, any white person born here, it says any person period

No, the Founding Fathers never meant for this type of abuse.  Either way, we can change it, no issue at all.

You have a strange version of history.  The US had a 90% plus white population for almost all of its history.  That didn't happen by accident.

If it wasn't for the black slaves, it would have been even higher.

Again, since the writing doesnt specify which race, its safe to say that all races
were considered welcome. Do you think they were illiterate and didnt know what they
were writing?

I didn't say it isn't.  But you seem to think that this poem means Americans should throw open their gates and take in just about anybody.  Correct me if wrong.

No, the US wanted cheap labor from selected European nations when there was a shortage of labor. 

We never wanted poor people or refugees from all over the world.  After 1965,  everything changed for the worse.

We never wanted poor people or refugees from all over the world.  After 1965,  everything changed for the worse.


sounds like a lot of speculation since that isnt written anywhere in our immigration
policy or constitution regarding immigrants
