So the best argument he has is that we were wrong before?  That's an incredibly weak point to make.  If he has an argument why the conclusions are wrong, where is it?

No, that wasn't his argument at all.  His argument was that the intelligence community failed to put the procedures in place that they came up with as a result of lessons learned from the WMD investigation failure.

The Government started with a conclusion (Russian interference) and worked backwards to see if the evidence fits that narrative.  They failed to use competitive analysis or to investigate alternative conclusions.  The National Intelligence Assessment said it relied on its understanding of Russian behavior, which Ritter points out can be easily influenced by group think.

So, where is the evidence that disproves it was Russia?  All I'm seeing so far is a barefaced assertion that the government's methods aren't reliable.

He didn't disprove it was Russia.  He pointed out the Government didn't use it's best practices to conduct the Russia investigation, and instead they used the same flawed methodology that they used with the Iraq WMD investigation, before they implemented a better approach.

So, as it stands, it was Russia by a preponderance of the evidence.

As it stands, it was Russia by using a specious investigation technique that's been shown unreliable.

The publicly available evidence is enough to support a prima facie case, and I'm confident that there is some evidence other than that floating around.

Only if you think "we assess with high confidence" is evidence (I don't see how it is).  There's zero evidence in the report of Russian interference other than the fact that Russia was caught spying on the US to include the DNC.  Everything else was simply their conclusions, basically saying "we assess with high confidence that..."

If you saw something I missed in the report, feel free to share it...

That's one of the things I'm saying, yes.  I'm also saying that 14 minutes is plenty of time to transfer 2GB over a broadband connection.

Overall, what I'm saying is that his claim that it had to be a local transfer really isn't borne out by his evidence.  It's possible it was.  It's also possible it wasn't, based on his evidence alone.

I'm not an expert on cyberhacking, but a group of former U.S. intelligence officers, including NSA specialists, also challenge the claim that Russia “hacked” Democratic emails last year.
Granted, no one but the hacker seems to know what happened, so it's kind of silly to pretend we do.  I get that that you're a big fan of "high confidence", but without more information I seriously question that assessment, just as I correctly did with weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Wow, I'm surprised the Washington Post printed that.  They were leading the effort to get people to think there was something there.

Bringing it back because jr, if you can believe it, has remembered who else was at the meeting!

Trump Jr. did not disclose the presence of Akhmetshin, Samachornov, or Kaveladze at the meeting. And it is unclear why a discussion of Russia's adoption policy would have required Kaveladze, who's based in Los Angeles, to be thereno else was at the meeting

It's because you discredited the WP as soon as trump did like a sheeple and when they finally put something that you agree with you are "surprised they are reporting what happened?" No doubt places like CNN and Fox are fake news media but all media is not 100% dishonest and agenda based

How are they leading the effort? I really don't think you understand how journalism (especially print journalism) works. They are following the Russia story becasue there is something there, as evidenced by the continual stream of stories that provide circumstantial evidence of some very unseemly and improper dealings.

That is an editorial. The post prints editorials fron a number of conservative and liberal staff members as well as other influential or knowledgeable writers.

The Washington post is one of the most reliable, competently edited journalism outlets in the world.

The real scandal would be if the post came into possession of information related to trump and Russia and didn't publish it.

This is fake news:

There's a reason legitimate sources didn't feature this story.

There are plenty of business activities that have been sanctioned in the past three years.  Money laundering and bribery of foreign officials are always illegal.

I really don't think you understand why 6 corporations control 90% of the media.

They're spun to seem that way.  But as I've continuously pointed out, none of them have any real substance.

Not since billionaire Jeff Bezos bought them out.

Agreed, that would be a scandal too.  But no one has come into possession yet of information showing Trump illegally colluded with Russia, have they?
