Development of 12 Chakras...

As you (should) know, in the New Age we will have 12 chakras and 12 strand DNA just like we used to.

I was just wondering... where exactly our new chakras reside?

Heart chakra will be dual - that is we will have 2 hearts  :wink: but what about the rest?


While we're on the subject... how do you go about activating and clearing 3 chakras below heart level? I concentrate on a particular chakra and maniferst light ... i find that my third chakra from the bottom causes most trouble, i think its got to do with my mental discipline...

Ohh and one more thing, anyone got any tips on how to work with Kundalini energy in general?

When trying to send Kundalini up your spine, you actually work with 1D Gaia as the centre of the earth right?

sending energy to your base, then up wo your crown - the centre of our galaxy ...

there is another version of this story..that the other 5 chakras are outside the body...the 8th chakra is 1 metre above the head.. the 9th 11 metres..and the other three are at infinity...im not sure what the sanskrit names for the outer 5 chakras are..but they are written as n==13-n..so that the stomach chakra is written as 3==10..the heart chakra is 4==9..etc...the abyss is then written as 9==4.. as such..the manifested reality is a reflection of the abyss...

well..you could get swami to poke his fingers into your eyes, that seems to have an effect upon some people's kundalini :wink:

never heard of 12 chakras, all the traditional systems claim we have just 7, but hey! its a big wide world.

it is not a very good idea to focus upon a single chakra, better to find some meditation exercises that involve 'moving light' through all the chakras systematically.
you may find books by yogi ramacharaka useful.

The other chakras are said to be 'spritual chakras' that reside above the crown. While we have literally hundreds of chakras all over the body, we have 7 main ones through the center, and it is thought several under us into the earth and seven more spiritual chakras above us in the higher self.

as i understand it there are 14 chakras. 7 more after the traditional 7. i've learned the hard way its really not best to mess with the higher ones until you've opened/mastered the lower ones. it ultimately leads to bad things. i'd reccomend alchemical taoist with yoga.

Would the chakras have anything to do with the lymph nodes? What is that called, the lymphmatic system, or something? Would that be the physical manifestations of chakras?

some cultures make the connection, linking the chakras to the nerve and endocrine systems.
it is thought, there are physical, emotional and spiritual characteristics of each chakra. :sun:

What do you guys think about those online chakra tests? I took this one and it said I was mostly in the 4th, but Im really not very emotive as that would indicate. Are those just like online IQ tests where it doesnt mean shit? Obviously it cant be dead accurate but it could give a general idea.

There are always variations in the systems of psychic centers. One system has a 'Manas' [manas=mind] chakra situated between Manipura and Anahata, and a 'Surya [surya=sun] chakra between Anahata and Vishuddha. There is also a Lalata chakra in the upper palate of the mouth.

The Kagyu Vajrayana system of Lama Thubten Yeshe has 3 'Secret Chakras' that comprise the Root Center (Tibetan Buddhist Yoga usually combines the upper 2 and the lower 2 to make 5 chakras which correspond to the 5 Buddha Wisdoms and there symbolism with the 5 spokes of the Vajra/Dorje). Males have a Secret Chakra at the base of the penis, a Jewel or Middle Chakra at the middle of the penis and a Tip Chakra at the end of the penis. A female also has these 3, with the Tip endining at the mouth of the cervix. However, with all of the chakras "It doesn't need to be in a precisely designated place." Theses are not material realities, but 'psychic,' 'experiential,' or 'subtle' realities.

BTW, Vajrayana Buddhist Yoga does not speak of the Kundalini Shakti. They speak (Lama Govinda) of the Inner Fire which moves to first fill the Manipura, head back to the Root, then ascend to the Head Center, filling and cascading down (shepherd-crook-like) to fill the Heart Center. The natural Chakras (of which the Kundalini is all about) become transformed into vehicles of Enlightened Mind, with some very specific characteristics: the 5 Buddha Wisdoms (symbolized by the different hand mudras). Lama Govinda's 'The Foundations of Tibetan Mysticism' is by far the most detailed account of this transformation, and the meaning of the great Mantra OM MANI PADME HUM which translates the ascending and descending energies I mentioned (The Absolute [OM] is a Jewel [MANI] in the Lotus [PADME] of the Heart [HUM]).

The so called 12 Chakras sometimes refers to other Centers above Sahasrara, in the Astral Body that extends beyond the physical body. It is not a matter of a future addition, it is a matter of different systems based upon different transpersonal/psychedelic experiences. The hands (as you've illustrated) and feet also are said to have Chakras. Sometimes the knees. These systems parallel the Jewish Qabalistic system. Taoism has its own system as well. So do the Hopi Indians.
