Swami, do you believe in any form of life after death at all?

There is nothing for me to base any belief on. There are thousands to choose from and none have any strong basis other than wishful thinking. If there were anything solid then people would come to similar conclusions, would they not?

I notice that neither you nor MM actually respond to my pointing out of inconsistencies in the NDE links, but instead focus on my beliefs and / or intentions. This is usually a signal for the end of the discussion.

So...you believe that generally anything is possible in regards to what happens after death?

If you have empirical evidence disproving NDE's I would like to see it.

I honestly don't know if you are arguing "just because" or if there is a point that you are trying to make. I cannot nor do I want to "disprove" someone's experience.

I am taking to task some of the claims as per the suggested link list. No scientific discoveries have been shown due to NDEs unless someone has a much better link. The reasoning provided was indeed vapid. "Well, we would have saved the world from dreaded diseases if we only remembered." Come on...

I tried to cover this in in great depth in my "Illogical Questions" thread.

Could you please be so nice enough to provide a straight answer to the question right now?

You guys are jumping all over Swami because he made a very good observation, nothing more. He didn't claim to have all the answers, or "evidence" of anything, he simply pointed out that the book these "prophecies" were written in was written AFTER the events were to take place.

I think that's pretty fishy too. And if you don't, why? I mean, damn, how is it any proof of anything if the dates don't add up?

The point is, why should he have to respond with "empirical evidence" to disprove it when "empirical evidence" was never given TO prove it in the first place?

Me? I'm jumping all over Swami?

I don't think so.

Thank you for ignoring 90% of what I just said and commenting on a completely irrelevant part of it...

Edit: Also, I didn't mean specifically you, yours was just the last post, therefore the one I responded to.

I read the rest of your entire post. And I partially agree with some of it.
The post was directed towards me, as indicated in the header of your post and began with the opening statement: "You guys are jumping all over Swami....".

So, hence my rebuttal.
No big deal.

I gotta stop hitting the nearest reply button every time I wanna post; I'm used to using boards on which no one really pays attention to who you replied to.

Glad we got that all straightened out.. ;p

Uhh.. yeah. I'm just gonna assume that the first couple paragraphs of that weren't directed to me, because I can't quite figure out how they could have been. *shrug*

And, honestly, the way you write makes it hard for me to keep my attention on it.. might be my fault for not having your extensive vocabulary (I'm only 19) but you seem to use a lot of obscure words when not necessary. Makes it kinda hard to follow what you're trying to say, much less keep my attention. Guess that's my fault, though. *Shrug*

I officially bow out of this conversation on the grounds that my vocabulary can't handle it. *wanders off*

You're giving me the distinct impression that you seem to believe you dont have the ability (or desire) to LEARN advanced vocabulary.
You do have a brain, after all...
Not to mention www.dictionary.com is always available for reference...

How do you expect to learn and grow if you always back down and 'bow out of conversations on the grounds that your vocabulary can't handle it'?

Stick with it and learn.
But of course, you have to be willing.
