I think anytime you can cut steps out of the cultivation process vectors for contamination become closed.  Good idea, blinding.

Thanks for the link to the test tubes too.  I still haven't settled on any specific kind of tubes to use as slants yet, so your suggestion is much appreciated.  Probably end up grabbing a few of those and try them out.  So far been using those 100mm glass test tubes.  They work good for me, but I would like something smaller.

eat, yea, something along those lines.  an easy to use inoculant.  i don't trust needles over time, or used LC's over time (obviously, opinions vary), so i like the idea of one time use, in this case, one would free pour into grain master.

i was using 15ml plastic tubes/25ml glass, but, if u include the wood stick, it just seemed to me like there was such little area to pull from, and it wasn't easy either.  i could be being nit picky, but, slants are like having a winning lottery ticket in ur fridge for years, so i want them to be a good size
50ml tubes have larger opening, so some may think that would be a contam vector in itself, but i would argue the smaller openings are actually worse, because IME, I end up having them open for much longer as i try to grab a decent sized wedge/chunk out, and inevitably bump the sides of the tube in the process.  being stoned makes the process even worse, and knowing some of the people on the boards...well...u know, seems like those 50ml tubes would suit their needs too :blazed:

edit:  if the link don't work, type in "karter scientific 50ml tubes" in amazon
they come in conical bottom and "skirt" bottom
same volume, but "skirt" stands upright on its own/no rack

Nah, I don't think you are being nit-picky at all.  Nit pick the world apart.  Don't blame the herb, though, for your lack of finesse getting culture out the tubes.

How about filling it with about 2-1/2 gallons of grain/vermiculite and inoculating it with a quart of slurry...and birthing it once its fully colonized?

you putting an sfd on the top? yeah! i don't think you will need to inoculate with an entire quart of grain slurry. maybe only about 1/4th a quart.

I didn't think 1 quart of slurry was enough! To get colonization in less than a week I need like 20-30 ml of slurry or Lc per quart...yeah thats only 300ml...so One quart is overkill....hey thats right up my alley! 1 quart it shall be! Shit originally its what I started this 1500ml of lc for...

the hole is going to be for either a filter or pvc gloves so I can mix up the contents to ensure even dispersion of inoculant. I could shake it up I guess but a glove would be better.

think about it. if its only about a tablespoon per quart. multiply that by how many quarts you can fit in it. then you have how much slurry you need. if its only 4 quarts you don't need much at all. you might do a batch of jars in addition to filling that thing. then whatever is leftover pour into that big mamma.

2.5gl*4qt=10qt*30ml=300ml....I want about 30ml of lc/slurry per quart. once again I'm aiming for 4 day colonization.

Ya, I know its pretty cool, I've decided to use a turkey bag for the glove hole. Its super simple, everyone gots em, they're cheap. etc.

From the people who brought you unpopular products like the Camplo-slurry-jar, I now give you the official, CAMPLO JAR!!!!! the first and only fully sterilize-able fruiting chamber, now you can inoculant gallon's worth of grain at a time and fruit it out of the very same chamber. So many amazing possibilities! Sold no where...

Just remember who was the first to do it...me :suckmydickbitches:
