Not much to it really but here ya go...
Just over 1 1/4 cup dry grain per quart jar
Step 1 Dump dry grain into large pot and fill with water a few inches over grain

Step 2 Bring to a boil and boil for a aprox 25-30 min. I check readiness by poppin a few in my mouth here n there until I have them how I want. Kind of firm but chewy... should look like this when done boiling

Step 3 Dump grains into a strainer and rinse with cold water until grains are cooled down. You don't want to load the grains into the jars hot, this causes alot of condensation in the jars which leads to over hydrated clumpy popped grains during the pc cycle.
Step 4 Strain grains very well until there is barely any water dripping out. I like to give a quick strainer shake between every jar I load to get rid of as much excess water as possible.
Step 5 Load jars and pc for 2hrs at 15psi. Here's what they look like fresh out the pc

And here is what they look like once shaken and cooled

Well not much to it, very simple and quick. From the time you start the grain prep until the pc is loaded is just around 45 min.
Now this tek is for wheat, other grains you may have to tweak boil times.

Nice writeup
How do you find wheat compares to other grains in terms of prep/contams/water level?
I just bought a big bag of RGS but have been wanting to try wheat for a while.

I've always wondered if fresh undried grain could be used, just plop a bunch of freshly harvested grains into the jars and pc them. Probably all just burst though...

As much as is shown in the jar picture.
It works out to be just over 1 1/4 cups of dry grain per jar.

I made the switch to wheat because rye was becoming harder to find where I live and it's expensive. Wheat, on the other hand, can be found in abundance where I live and I can buy lots of it quite cheaply. I remember reading posts that talked about how wheat can be gluggy but I didn't experience problems. I also bought barley when the shop I was in didn't have enough wheat and that worked just fine too.

The store I get 50lb bags of organic rye berries from has wheat too, I've always eyeballed it but its usually so close in price I just stick with my rye.
Nice writeup!

Pressure cookers kill endospores
Also soaking creates more endospores than you started with in most cases

Have some burst grains but they are still pretty chewy.
Did I over boil or is this amount of burst grains ok?
