if any of these things could be done, it would be cool:

1. you should be able to respond to a thread in general, not just to any one specific person who posts in the thread.... each response needn't be a response to one specific person... so it shouldn't always have to say that it is.

2. you should be able to make it a response to more than just one person... 2 or 3 perhaps, and it should be able to indicate that.

3. when you go to respond to a post, you shouldn't only be able to view and refer to that post, but the whole thread. if you need to find something in the thread not contained in the specific post you're responding to, it's a real pain in the ass.

Due to the nature of the software, you have to respond to one post.

Before you reply, open the post in new window, now you have 2 windows with the same thread, and can use one for reply, and one to look things up.

In the past there were some vendors who were starting contests in order to gain more (unpaid) advertising on the board in form of links in signatures.

Thus links to vendors in signatures were banned altogether.
