Blue New Posts Won't Go Away!!

Previously Normal Operation: I login and go to a forum and all threads which contain posts I have not read have a blue number indicating the new posts. I read a thread and go back to the list of threads for that forum and the blue # is gone.
New, not normal operation: I login and go to a forum and all threads which contain posts I have not read have a blue number indicating the new posts. I read a thread and go back to the list of threads for that forum and the blue # is the same and will not go away regardless of how many times I respond to the thread or read it.
I have not changed anything at all. In fact the problem is the same at home or at work. The only way to make the blue #'s reflect the correct # is to close my browser, reopen it and login again. VERY ANNOYING as I use the blue #'s quite abit to keep up with a thread's status (who doesn't?).

Yeah... that happens for me, too.
I like to open each thread in a new window and refresh the forum page (so as to keep track of which threads I've read)... but I can't do that anymore.

It's still wacky on my end.
It seems the blue indicators will only go away if I've replied to a thread and then refresh the page.

Hmmm, try clearing your cookies and then close your browser; then log into the shroomery again..
Oh and make sure your date/time is definately correct.

If I delete my cookies or close the browser... of course the blue indicators will go away. But if I do that, I have to log on again and clear my history... basically, it?s a big pain in the ass.
The problem is that I can?t differentiate between threads w/unread replies that I HAVE read (and not replied to) and threads w/unread replies that I HAVE NOT read.
Notice that the link for "The Importance of a Positive Attitude" is darkened... this is because I have visited the link. However, I have refreshed the page, so the "(1)"-indicator should not be there... but it IS there.

This is AFTER I replied to "The Importance of a Positive Attitude" and then refreshed the page (again):

SOOOOO... no good response on this on either, eh?
Maybe I should post pics of naked women in here or something... at least there'd be more attention to the problem.

Nope. That made ALL of them go away (not just the ones that I've read and not responded to).

guess what? the problem is occuring again and it was right after the server seemed to be down for about 20 minutes. something is wrong on the shroomery side. it sucks for us that are affected.
and now, miraculously, it is fixed. who knows...
