Re: Anyone here morman? [Re: shwowsh]

*mormons being christian, just not like the other christian churches

I just wanted to clarify shwosh's comment.

Mormans believer they are christian because they believe in Jesus Christ. Christ = Chistian.

Other Christian Churches argue this fact because Mormans don't believe in the Triune God... that is to say, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are both separate and one at the same time.

This little technicality has caused many an argument between faiths.

I, also, want to talk about one of the Morman Church's most misunderstood practices. Baptism for the dead. Sounds creepy huh? Especially since most Mormans are tight lipped when it comes to this practice.

Basically, the Morman church baptises dead people. No, they don't use corpses. Since the Morman church believes only true Mormans can go to heaven, they baptise all the non mormans they can AFTER death. Think of it this way... the Morman's have got you covered... just in case they're right.

I also want to talk about garments. Garments are given to a couple during their Temple marraige. These grey looking pieces so underwear are suppoesd to be touching maried mormans at all time. It is believed garments protect mormans. Frankly, I think not smoking or drinking is better for their health than the garments.

As for Jack Morman... I can't believe you haven't heard that one. There's even a band in Utah called the Jack Mormans. Perhaps it is just a Utah term.

My problems with the Morman church have more to do with politics than anything else. Most Utah Mormans are conservative and most Conservative, Morman polititians have trouble separating church and state.

You can't get bear with normal alchohol% in Utah stores. All beer is 3.2% alchohol. Even malt liquor... unless you go to one of a handfull of state run liquor stores. You can't even buy wine unless you go to a liquor store.

You can't smoke within 25 feet of the entrance of a building in Utah.

And my favorite thing... Utah is the only state in the Union which has a... wait for it... PORN CZAR. And she is a middle aged VIRGIN!

Most Mormans are great people. Don't knock sobriety 'till you try it. Some are annoying. The most annoying Mormans are the ones who don't ask why... they only do what their church tells them to do. This leads to a Stepford Wives type of society.

I do find it hypocritical that the Morman church won't allow caffiene, yet they own a huge percentage of Coca Cola.

Thank you for mentioning blacks. I want to go into some more detail.

Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve's sons, were in a fight and Cain killed Abel. The Bible says Cain was given a mark so everyone would know he was a murderer.

Mormans believe black people are decendants of Cain... the first murderer.

To be black, is to be struck with the mark of Cain. This is why Mormans don't allow blacks into their priesthood.

Re: Anyone here morman? [Re: Rose]

two more mormon myths to dispel:

1) mormons do not ban caffeine. in one scripture called the word of wisdom, it says to not drink hot drinks such as tea or coffee. years later when people knew what was in these drinks they decided it must have been banned for the caffeine and thus one shouldnt drink any caffeine. however this is just certain members of the church, not the actual church doctrine.

2) yeah, that whole cain thing made me so fucking angry when i heard it. i couldnt believe it when i heard it come out of some dumbass' mouth. however, again, this is just what some mormons (and other people in other christian religions) believe. and most who believe it dont think it means blacks are bad people, that's simply how they interpret the scripture and take it as an explanation for races. oh yeah, and blacks are in the priesthood nowadays since 197_ (can't remember exact year).

the one thing that mormons have going for them is that in day to day life they are often some of the nicest people you'll meet. to me that actually says quite a lot, i mean, isnt that what religion should kind of be about? what i hated though were the mormons who would focus 90% of their attention on a scripture that by virtue of its own title was only a 'word of wisdom' (the one banning alcohol, tobacco and coffee) instead of far more important things like kindness, generous and probably what is the most common/ignored fault among mormons: gluttony.

shwowsh--yes i grew to despise those fast and testimony meetings. the worst was when every single meeting there was at least one stupid couple who would send their 5-year old kid up to the podium to say "i know this church is true, i know that jesus lived...." are you fucking kidding me?? NOONE 'knows' that. much less a five-year old kid. its just so fucking insulting its hard to put into words why. its sad, sickening, insulting and infuriating all at the same time. i would love to have seen some go up to the podium and lambast people for doing it. that would have been great.

and a trivial point: its 'mormons' not 'mormans'. its comes from a prophet named Mormon who wrote the Book of Mormon which those in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints use as a scripture in addition to the bible.

I learn new stuff about myself every day... did you know they don't even tell you about the whole becoming Gods of other planets after you die? I never even heard of this until about a year or 2 ago, and i thought it was just some made up shit from non mormons or something, but i asked the bishop, and he confirmed... I wonder how old you have to be before they get around to mentioning that little tidbit about being Gods.

And please do tell more about this porn czar. what exactly does she do? Damn, Utah is one crazy state.

and here's another thing i've heard, just to mention the biggest taboo as of yet that I have heard. There is apparently a small room, either in the Salt lake city temple, or one of the other major mormon facilities, that no one has any idea whats in. And from what I gather, only the prophet, and maybe a couple others know whats in it. Weird shit huh? I think i also heard there were some texts in it, but who knows if any of thats true, I haven't bothered looking into it.

Sometimes I play out little scenarios of me going up to the podium on fast sunday, and telling everyone that I don't know if any of this stuff is true, and that I don't have faith, and I would start spouting out about how none of them can know for sure etc.. I wonder if someone would come up there and make me get down or leave the church. I'd never do it though.

here it is:

Matthew 15:11

"Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man."

Here's some more interesting things:

Drug laws abolished by Jesus Christ:

Colossians 2:14

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross"

No one can say shit to you about your lifestyle:

Colossians 2:16

"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days"

And the clincher,

Jesus Christ declares laws against substances null and void, and says drug use can be wise:

Colossians 2:20-23

Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
(Touch not; taste not; handle not;
Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

A fucking Men!!

LDS - "You see some classes of the human family that are BLACK, UNCOUTH, UNCOMELY, DISAGREEABLE and LOW in their habits, WILD, and seemingly DEPRIVED OF NEARLY ALL THE BLESSINGS OF THE INTELLIGENCE that is generally bestowed upon mankind.

LDS - "Now WE ARE GENEROUS WITH THE NEGRO. WE ARE WILLING that the Negro have the highest kind of education. I WOULD BE WILLING to LET every Negro DRIVE A CADILLAC IF THEY COULD AFFORD IT. I WOULD BE WILLING that they have all the advantages they can get out of life in the world. BUT LET THEM ENJOY THESE THINGS AMONG THEMSELVES."

Sure. It's saying this:

"Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world"

You are spiritually reborn (saved) and set apart from the cares of this world like Christ is.

"why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
(Touch not; taste not; handle not;"

So why should you care about laws that exist in the world that try to tell you what substances you can have/partake of?

"Which all are to perish with the using;)"

Either this means:
A: The laws are trying to tell us that using these things (drugs) will make you perish (die) or

B: All these laws "perish" in the user's mind once they use (drugs) Meaning... for example..Once you smoke pot, all that you have heard about how BAD it is becomes comical once you feel it for yourself.

" Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body"

These things (drugs) are indeed good, helping you to make your own choices, become humble, and honor the spirit above the body.

": not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh."

And that they do not just turn you into an animal like the government claims.

Incorrect.  Yes, it's "Mormon," not "Morman," but it was Joseph Smith who wrote down the Book of Mormon, which the spirit of the prophet Maroni, who was the son of a man named Mormon, supposedly helped him translate from some ancient golden tablets, which were supposedly originally written by the prophet Lehi.

You are correct silversoul7. Thank you for the correction. I overquoted. I was refering to the spelling of Mormon only in my reply.

I heard those golden tablets were supposedly found in America. I heard Mormons believe the Garden of Eden was in America.

Dang, Silversoul, you know your Mormon shit. Well, almost. Lehi was the very first prophet of the Book of Mormon and didn't write any of it. One of his sons, Nephi, was the first writer. Mormon came about a thousand years later, and abridged all the writings to date, then gave the plates to his son Moroni. Moroni put finishing touches in and then buried the plates on a hill in what is now New York.

Also, Moroni didn't help Smith translate the plates, he showed Smith where they were buried. Smith translated the plates with the Urim and Thummim, two seer stones.

Unless the whole story was a fabrication.

One thing for sure, (whoever mentioned this) contraceptives are not prohibitted. Give the over-populators that much.

Tao and Shwowsh--I'm with you, brethren. Shwosh, advice is good, and I could add in my own, but at the end of the day you're as alone as anyone else. Good luck.

Actually, I am the one who wrote these writings. You see, I was really drunk one time, and since there were a lot of things I didn't like about Christianity, I decided I was going to start my own religion by making some shit up to allow for what I wanted to allow.

I now will point out that these writings that I made up have no more credibility than any other religious writing. Maybe there was a reason the Mormon's were ran out of the East....

I will now take the time to propose my new religion. It consists of smoking a lot of marijuana and opium, and listening to a lot of Egyptian metal music. Listening to Nile's Die Rache Krieg Lied Der Assyriche is just as much of a religious experience as anything fucking else... it is all from within.....
Peace.
