mushroom tea?

I'm going to be tripping this coming friday and I was considering making some mushroom tea instead of just eating them, it's not that I don't lihe the taste of mushrooms I have heard that tea works faster and is more potent. I have also been told that tea doesn't work and I would just be wasteing some perfictly good shrooms. I would just like to know tea or no tea?

Definately make some tea.

Depends upon your definition of tea:

If you soak fruit in warm tea, and then strain... less stomach problems, fast onset, weaker peak, shorter length unless you bump it (redose)

If you blend fruit in with warm tea, but don't strain it... normal stomach distress, fast onset, strong peak, shorter overall trip unless you bump it (redose).

Both of the above are compared to eating the fruit.

I assumed that you were drinking the tea quickly, rather than sipping. The onset is normal if you drink the tea slowly.

Seuss is right about the extract but here is something you should do with the extracted tea.

To extend the peak, just drink your extracted tea over 30-45 minutes. No need to bump, no weak peak... and the peak often lasts up to one hour longer.

Yeah... I've had all kinds of tea.

Some teas can soothe your stomach (mint tea comes recomended).

You can also, eat the shrooms after they are strained if you are still concerned about potency. Rule of thumb, if you are making a batch of tea for a bunch of friends, strain it. You want to minimize their stomach discomfort. It also, looks more palatable. If you are making tea for yourself or for experienced shroomers, there is nothing wrong with grinding the shrooms and just leaving them in.

Finally, adding some lemon juice to your extracting water will extract even more of the psylocybin from the shrooms.

If I add lemon to the water and strain the shrooms, I notice little to no difference in potency.

You need:
1.67 dried grams of Psilocybe Cubensis (use whole specimens, not powder)
A Coffee/Hot Tea Mug
Bottled Spring Water

Recipe for one:
Step One: Fill your mug with the water
Step Two: Pour the water into a pot, set on oven, bring to a soft boil
Step Three: Once a soft boil has begun, add 1.67 dried grams of Psilocybe Cubensis and boil for exactly ten minutes at a low, gentle boil
Step Four: Pour the Psilocybin Water (minus the specimens) into your mug and add your favorite tea (bag) for about four minutes so you have a standard cup of tea taste with a little extra punch courtesy of your psilocybes. You now have a hot cup of Spiritual Water waiting.

Remember: Less is more
Also Remember: Preparation is not to be ignored. Setting is also vital.

Don't venture unless you feel 1000% solid about it.

eating straight, on peanut butter sandwhich, downing it with orange juice, some people mix in a milk shake.

Eating your specimens one bite at a time while fresh is ideal.

Eating your specimens dry with peanut butter spread on them will work.

Making chocolate-covered fresh mushrooms works.

One could blend 'em up, mix 'em and eat 'em in pudding.

One could also blend them up and put them in pill capsules which are available at health food stores like Whole Foods Markets.

One could make a non-alcoholic strawberry daquori (sp?) using slushed ice with them.

In general though, you should keep in mind that Psilocybes taste bitter by design. They are not to be overconsumed and God has tried to make this obvious by making the taste bitter IMO. The taste itself is part of the experience, so you have to adjust to the fact that you're not ingesting your favorite dessert. Instead, you are eating an amazing food that intensifies your perception.

Intensifying your perception can be somewhat dangerous for all humans, regardless of how rock-solid some of us appear. With mushrooms you must use only a sufficient amount and no more than that, just as it is with all things. One must "tread lightly" as the saying goes. Too much is too much. Less is more.

'Tend to think of P. Cubensis like Passover's bitter herbs. The bitter herbs were eaten to wake up Israel's citizens each time they ate the Passover, not to give them delicious food.

That's shooting real low don't you think? I would say 3+ grams for a decent trip. I wouldn't even bother with anything less than that.

Even Dr. Shulgin and his wife who wrote the the book "Tihkal" agree that 1.67 is literally a sufficient, visionary dose.

You'll have to experiment more with an amount in this range (using P. Cubensis specimens with typical potency). I assume you are using old or improperly stored mushrooms if a 1.67g dosage has no or little effect.

Enter is right.

I reached lvl 5 with a similar (1.5-1.75g) dose.

If course, you can put more shrooms in your tea if you're feeling adventureous.

JR and Enter are talking about different things. Enter is refering to a spiritual journey and JR is talking about a fun, visual trip.

I think you might have gotten that post a little mixed up, I'm assuming I'm JR right??? How would you consider a 3g+ a fun visual trip compared to 1.67g being a spirtual journey? I would think it would be the other way around. Unless you mean because it's not so intense you can focus on things more, but I know I have learned alot more off very high doses than low to medium doses.

As far as my shrooms being old or whatever I usually only trip on fresh wild shrooms (GC P. Cubenis). I have only cultivated once so far and there didn't seem to be any potence diffrence.

To me taking 1.67g would be like taking half an ecstacy pill, sure you'll feel it but it's not what the experience is all about, I like to take as much as I have available and trip the fuck out, if I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it right.

"1.5 Grams for each of us, of the type known as psilocybe cubensis, mixed with a few bits of anohter type, all crushed and eaten raw, at around 6:00p.m. Taste was pleasant.
First effects felt at 10 minutes after eating the little devils. Shortly after that, the world erupted into patterns. Patterns over everything. They seemed to fill all the space between me and my surroundings. THe most prevalent design was that of a sort of squarish amoeba with a central black dot, like a nucleus, repeated endlessly and in three dimensions. Actually, it began to look most of all like chickenwire, with a small black dot in the middle of each square. In three dimensions.
At this point, quarter to 8:00p.m., we've plateau'd; I at plus three and Shura at around plus two (he speculates that an experiment two days ago probably softened his response).

I do realize that she wrote in her first sentence above that it wasn't just P. Cubensis. So it is possible that a more potent species was used. But I think this communicates a message that people can experiment with lower amounts than 3.5grams.

I strongly believe 'less is more.' This is my opinion and I'm convinced I'm right.

You heard me right JT.

I'm not trying to flame you. Frankly, most people like larger doses. I do.

Still, Enter isn't blowing smoke up your ass. If you can get to lvl 5 with 1.6g, isn't using more wasteful?

JR. You aren't overstepping any boundries by suggesting someone injest 3g of cubes, I just have to agree with enter on this one. I know from experience, he is right.

Well IME anything lower than the equilevent of 2g dried was just a tease, if you have read any of my other post though you will see I like to take a very healthy dose any time I trip (8g+) so my opnion might be biased on the matter. Like I said, I don't doubt you would feel effects from 1.67g but personally if I'm gonna trip, I want it to be a fascinating one, in which I "die" and learn from the experience.

Well JT (Sorry bout the JR thing It was late when I last looked at your name) you are a man after my own heart.

I like the big doses too.

But, my only lvl 5 trip was at 1.5g. Best trip ever. It was ego death.

That said, my first three trips were at 1.5g and I fealt nothing. I think that dosage only began to work for me when I became used to tripping.

One thing I can say about the larger doses, visuals are much better.
