Occasionally, we get mice and I have to set up the traps. The worst thing is when the traps come down on their faces and they don't die, which is why I have a little bottle of chloroform and a box with no bottom and with a hole in the top covered with a piece of cloth. If the mouse isn't killed by the trap, I just  put the box over the mouse and pour a small amount of chloroform on the cloth. The vapors fill the box and the mouse is dead in a minute or two. :cookiemonster:

If you want to use them for this, they have traps that catch them alive.

Why you gotta kill animals?

I don't even kill plants.... At least not knowingly.

If there's flies in my house - they're the only exception. I hope you know that there's probably many many more mice in your house and killing this one won't make any difference at all.

I don't get off chloroforming mice. If I could catch them alive without injuring them, I would prefer so I could just release them outside, but the snap traps really are the only thing that works effectively.

I hate doing it, but the mice get into the drawers and shit on the utensils and tear boxes and bags open and shit in them.

When the traps work right, the mice are killed instantly. I think it is the least cruel way to do it. Unfortunately, sometimes they don't snap on the neck and trust me, finding a mouse that is caught by its face or leg is very upsetting to me. The few times I've had to use the chloroform to euthanize them, I've had tears streaming down my face. I hate seeing animals suffer.

In terms of other mice being in the house, maybe... But not in the living area. It is readily apparent when they have found their way into the kitchen and when they do, it is usually only one, sometimes two or three and getting rid of them takes care of the problem.

I meant so that you can ensure they die painlessly, not trying to say you enjoy chloroforming mice.

don't sweat releasing them outside. It may not seem like it, but there are probably dozens of mice per acre in this area.

People don't realize it, but it is the mouse population, not the deer population that is driving up the rates of Lyme disease. Another reason they shouldn't be in your house.

Lol, I let her know that.

For real though, is there something she might have missed as a kitten? Like how to snap the neck or something? Just wondering from a cat psychology point of view.
