So true. You don't want the fuckers dying in your walls. That shit stinks forever! I used american cheese and it got every one of the bastards. I don't care what ziggen says. If you press the cheese all around the trigger, they have to pull to get the cheese and it will not come off. I tried peanut butter and they left the trap alone, but the cheese ones got hit time and time again.

If you dont mind killing a sticky trap with peanut butter in the middle is your best bet they are unbeatable.

just get that little clear box. that never fails.

one time my mouse socrates escaped in my car and lived in there for a month. then i bought the clear box and it totally nabbed him.

i had the same problem..fuckers kept cleaning the peanut butter and cheese right off. never set off the trap.

so i took sunflower seeds from my wbs bag i use for growing shroomies, and wedged that little seed into the hole on the trigger of the trap. I mean wedge it in there TIGHT. They love those seeds, and they will tug on it to get it. After weeks of battling with peanut butter and getting my ass kicked, the first night i set the seed traps out, i got every one of them caught.

It might help to bait the trap, but don't set it. Let them eat it the first time. Then bait it with the seed, and make sure it won't come out of the little metal hole in the trap. It'll get em for sure.

Just came home from work to find 1 dead mouse in the trap.

It snapped right on his head, it must have been completely and totally painless.

Which assuages my guilt slightly.

:lol: I had the same problem with mice at my college apartment. There were sticky traps and strategically placed peanut-butter baited mouse traps but I swear to god they got away with the peanut butter every time and never set off the trigger:mad2:

My roommates and I decided it was time for all-out war and got i) a badass cat:
and ii) an airsoft gun

My roommates and I searched the apartment for every hold we could find, most of which were where the radiator pipes entered the apartment and sealed them up with brillo. Then we played the waiting game... The first time I caught one was when my cat was sleeping on my bed and at around 3 in the morning I felt him leap off the bed and heard him scurry into the corner of the room. It took about 20 minutes of scanning around my room with a flashlight to find this fucker and finally I checked under my bed and saw the little fella hiding in a corner and I shot him.

We didn't see any mice in the apartment for months and our place used to be disgustingly infested... like, the day we moved in the entire kitchen counter was LITTERED with mouse shit :puke:. Not only did our cat destroy every single mouse in the apartment but he started knocking off the roaches as well and leaving us "presents" :eek:

In short, seal up those holes (mice can fit though holes as small as 1/4 inch as they are mostly made of hair and are really greasy), perhaps introduce a sadistic psychocat and finally, a pellet gun!
