Sid the painted turtle had a strange day. It started like any other day, Sid woke up, showered, got dressed, and left for work. He missed the bus on Mack Ave. and had to walk two blocks to the next bus stop. On the bus all the seats were occupied so he stood near the back.
15 minuets into the ride the bus hit a pothole that looked like a comet hit the road. Sid was slung upwards and hit his head on the ceiling, knocking him out. He awoke three hours later in the ER. Immediately after waking up he yelled at the nurses to get his phone. When he raised his voice his head felt like it was being crushed by a giant hand.
The nurse brought Sid his belongings in a plastic Ziploc bag. He dumped the contents out onto his lap and grabbed his phone. Martin called the nurse and started trying to get up. Two nurses ran into the room and lightly forced him back down telling him he had to remain laying down.
Sid told them that he had to go get his charger for his phone. Sir there are phones available for your use right here, one of the nurses said pointing to a telephone on a desk near the hospital bed. Sid sighed and told him that the his boss's phone number was in his cell phone.
The nurse got a phone book out of the desk's drawer that had the phone on it. Here you go, you can get the number out of here the nurse said. Sid tried to get up again but this time he was to weak and fell back. See the nurse said, you are to weak to leave right now, you had a bad concussion.
I need to charge this phone, I have a very important presentation i am supposed to be at martin said. The nurse politely told Sid that there was nothing he could do and to please lay down and relax. one nurse pressed a button on martins IV and they left the room. Sid thought about yelling for the nurse to come back but before he could perform the action he slipped into a deep peaceful sleep.
A sunset kaleidoscopic, If this is the other side, who would want to stop it? this warmth, these cosmic rays of sunshine, they tell me they're divine. I. can feel a consciousness. an ultimate knowing, that the others miss. this energy. connecting me. a vibrant enigmatic, infinity. Sid woke up a few hours later hungry as hell. A older male doctor came into the room. Mr. painted turtle last night your Iv malfunctioned and gave you 10 times the normal dose. While one of the female nurses was attempting to save your life you grabbed her large breasts. You tried to kiss her and asked her if you could dry smash her shit box.
This is our fault but for now on i will be dealing with you. Right now its 5:00am and i will be releasing you around 10:00am the doctor said. Nobody bothered Sid intill it was time for him to go. Sid got dressed and signed out.
The closest bus that went any where near where he lived was 8 miles away, he had a long walk ahead of him. He walked about 2 and a half miles when he came up to a a dark and strange factory. The factory had a large section of wooded area that ran along the fence line.
Sid thought that it might be possible to cut though the woods and get home much quicker. Martin did a look out to see if any one was watching and climbed the fence. There was an opening to the woods a little bit away from where he dropped in. the trees grew on each end at just the right angle pretty much forming a door. martin walked through the opening and it was as if he walked into a different world.
It looked like the path went the direction that he wanted so he set off on his way. After walking for about an hour Sid heard a noise close to him. It sounded like a small animal was following him. Sid stopped walking suddenly and listened, the footsteps stopped too late. Whos there!? martin yelled. He heard light footsteps a little bit ahead of him.
as the noise got closer a weird little man came into the moonlight. The little man was about 3 feet tall. He was wearing an old, ragged, dirty, pale green suit, a now mud colored tie, and a large tattered Top hat. I mean you no harm. I have never had a visitor here in my home, the little man said. The little man spoke with a accent that Sid had never heard of. Who are you Sid asked.
I am called Mr. Madhat, I am the mayor of this land Shroomery. Shroomery? There is no one else here but us and im Sid by the way. Mr. Madhat jumped up in the air doing a 360 with a huge grin on his face. He landed and enthusiastically told Sid that the shroomery was a vibrant and wondrous world. Sid was very seriously thinking about running as far away as he could from this crazy fucker.
Listen Sid, I can show you how to become connected with the Shroomery, Mr Madhat said. What are you talking about you crazy little monkey man Sid replied. Come with me and I will show you the key Mr. Madhat said as he set off down a little trail that Sid had not seen before. Mr. Madhat hopped about almost as is he had springs for legs.
He stopped at a large patch of mulch. The mulch smelt like manure and something else that was very odd. There were pipes coming from towards the factory that had some kind of waste leaking from them. The most noticeable thing though was the large one and two foot mushrooms growing in clusters in random places in the mulch.
The mushrooms were luminescent but not like any other Sid had ever seen. The stems had a neon blue glow. the gills had a purple glow that seemed to shift around bright purple spots and dark purple ones. The caps had a bright golden glow. Whoo, here they are Mr. Madhat said.
What kind of mushrooms are these Sid asked the mayor. Mr. Madhat hopped up on to a rock and grinned. These mushrooms are special, These are the mushrooms that the creator made to finally develop the consciousness to the next dimension.
Once you eat these mushrooms your consciousness will no longer be tied to your physical being. Time and Space will no longer be perceived like you understand it now, You can be anywhere, You will see all, you will be connected to all energy. Sid looked to Mr. Madhat and said... I want to eat some mush.
To be continued.
