Halal v.s Kosher
    #18088701 -

What really is the difference? I know Halal is Islamic and Kosher Jewish. The two religions are so similar that I fail to see the point in even having them separate from one another.

I've seen Halal meats chicken, beef, lamb, and even cheese. Kosher has all of what Halal has but it had wheat items, salt, and various other things that aren't animal derived. Where's the Halal salt and Halal bread?

You want to discuss why ridiculous idea #1 is more or less moronic than ridiculous idea #2?

As I understand it, many kosher regulations aren't from the Old Testament, but are instead part of the Talmud. That is, Kosher regulations don't come from a document common to Islam and Judaism, but are instead a later development.

Differences problem emerge in interpretations of what it means to "boil a calf in its mother's milk," and other Biblical dictates.
