I do too.  Do you think it's OK to break any law you want?

I just don't see any relevancy.  The video is out there now.  Should we all pretend it doesn't exist because the person who filmed it broke a state law?

Also, I don't care about protecting the privacy of someone when he is at a $50,000 a plate fundraising event for his campaign to be leader of the free world.  The law isn't sacred to me, and in this case I don't give a shit.

Doesn't matter if it was edited or not . Damage is done. If that's the case then Romney could have said hey  that's not what I meant where's the rest of what I said . But he didn't . And now hes slipping in the polls ,fellow republicans are jumping ship, and we haven't even gotten to the debates yet. He better hope his Mormon god likes him more than his supporters cristian god hates  his goofy cult. But I imagian that's just what you get when you run a campaign based on negativity and hatred rather than  a record of  achievment. When you ignore fact checking , try to convince everyone your words just dont matter and create a fictional candidate for yourself to run against. First to get it out of the way, ues, Obummer has been continuing violent policies bith overseas and abroad that most social conservatives loved under Bush (and still do love, they just don't comprehend that Obummer is continuing then and even intensifying some of them). Being a corporate militarist and not a leftist, this is not surprising.

So?  He promised one thing and produced another.
Quote:
Given that black, hispanic, and natives are on avg poorer than whites, and tend to vote Democrat, i am not surprised that about 70% of recipients of stereotypical welfare benefits vote for Democrats (including of course the share of poor whites who do as well.

Romney's specific claim, though, about the 47%, is of course totally inaccurate. However, given that it wasn't a prepared remark and i'm sure he wouldn't use that 47% figure if allowed to redo the comment, maybe it doesn't matter.

I don't care about your racist crap but you are 100% correct about one thing. It is totally inaccurate:
http://washingtonexaminer.com/article/2508314#.UFpgQVGFC_K

Quote:
While Romney suggested that 47 percent of Americans are dependent on government aid of some sort, the number is actually slightly higher. Over 49 percent of Americans live in a household where somebody is dependent on federal assistance, according to federal statistics.

And the percentage of people who don't pay taxes is worse than Romney pegged at 47 percent. According to the Heritage Foundation, it's over 49 percent. This is from a report they just issued: "In 1962, the first year measured in the Index of Dependence on Government, the percentage of people who did not pay federal income taxes themselves and who were not claimed as dependents by someone who did pay federal income taxes stood at 23.7 percent; it fell to 12 percent by 1969 before beginning a ragged and ultimately steady increase. By 2000, the percentage was 34.1 percent; by 2009, it was 49.5 percent. In short, the country is now at a point where roughly one-half of 'taxpayers' do not pay federal income taxes, and where most of that same population receives generous federal benefits."

He was probably right at the time but Obummer has driven yet more to the dole.

Quote:
The important point of the matter (that data you linked did show 54% of full time workers voting Democrat, so it's not as if it was Dems heavy on the "moocher" side and GOPers heavy on the "productive members of society" side) on my statment and your response is the at the state level, which is still a benefit for those on the receiving end of federal redistribution, both in terms of infrastructure, education, military spending, farm bill etc as well as the stereotypical welfare programs. Even in the latter case and even if going 100% to Dem voters instead of 70% is still a boost to the local economies.

Just because you work full time doesn't mean you aren't a moocher.  Consider the single mother with 3 children working a minimum wage job.  She is a moocher.  You also asked me to prove one thing, i.e. that poor moochers overwhelmingly vote for Democrats.  You tried to weasel around it with an obfuscatory argument about poor states but that is irrelevant.  Poor moochers do overwhelmingly vote Democrat and I proved it.  Sucks to be you.
Quote:
Also of note is that the latter category do not comprise a large % of the federal budget. Non welfare recipients in blue states are worse off relative to non welfare recipients in red states in this matter. Given that this stereotypical welfare is again a rather small % ofof federal budget, combined with the other kinds of aforementioned federal spending, red state non welfare recipients may be better off with the current state of federal spending than with a libertarian economy.

You really do just get all a tizzy when you get spanked, don't you?

Not for nothing but Romney hasn't made it a secret that he has very little patience for people who want government to provide them with everything they need or want.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/03/20/romney_to_contraception_heckler_if_you_want_free_stuff_vote_for_obama.html

Quote:
Question from woman in Peoria, Illinois: "So you’re all for like, 'yay, freedom,' and all this stuff. And 'yay, like pursuit of happiness.' You know what would make me happy? Free birth control."

Romney: "You know, let me tell you, no no, look, look let me tell you something. If you’re looking for free stuff you don’t have to pay for, vote for the other guy. That’s what he’s all about, okay? That’s not, that’s not what I’m about."

No but it is possible hes made something in his taxes a secret.
Its possible Harry Reid is right . Its very possible hes one of the 21000 of the 3 percent who pay no federal taxes.

Giving money to charity is noble but come on Mormon churches look like castles . Your free to give money to whoever you want but giving money to people in castles and calling it charity is bullshit. They already get 10% of members wealth its mandatory .
Of course I dont really know for sure if your boy is the most hypocritical shit stain of the face of the earth, and it doesnt look like I will.

I'm sure he didn't pay income tax for a few years.  I don't think he had a job that paid a salary or wage or gave tips.  I'm sure he paid what he had to pay.  Just like Warren Buffet and Barack Obama.  Otherwise the IRS would be on his ass.

Oh I don't blame them so much as I blame the assholes who give it to them.  Hell, who doesn't like free shit?  What I do blame the losers for is quitting.  The have give up hope.  They have been convinced by the liberals that they will never amount to anything on their own.  The tyranny of diminished expectations perpetrated by the erstwhile saviors, by acclamation, has indeed created a whole huge group of citizens who think their debt to the state is to chirp, skyward gazing, with their mouths wide open that someone fill it without any expenditure of effort on their part.

Amazing. You can read the minds and judge the character of half a country's population. Thats a gift you and Romey both seem to possess. If we could take a time machine back to 4% unemployment I might be inclined to agree. They dont need convincing, when there are no jobs people cant do shit about it. But when I say that now I just feel like a totally disconnected incoherent babbling fool.
I wonder how long it took Mitts old man to realize the destruction him and the other imigrant welfare addicted parasites were causing.

That's not being hypocritical.  It also doesn't seem appropriate to broadcast to the world that someone you love was on welfare.  I'm thinking that you probably would have left that out if you were talking about your parents, too.  He might also have left out the time his father puked at the kitchen table.

I don't think that one has to tell every single fact in every single speech.  That's inefficient and poor rhetoric.  You can call it dishonest if you want, but you do the same thing every day.  Otherwise, when someone asks you how you're doing, you'll say, "I have to take a shit, but I'm a bit bound up at the moment."

You were saying something here about Mitt Romney's father, puke, shit, constipation and poor rhetoric?

:handth: Nice point.

older people receiving benefits they paid into their whole working life renders this attempted linkage false.

Not really, because the notion that their current entitlements comes from their previous work is flat out wrong.  What they paid for their whole working life was entitlement programs of their parent's generation and their safety nets, military and social services.  They didn't save anything.  Not personally and not through the government.  They wealth they earned from working during their lives is gone.  Long gone.  Any govt. money they get now is mooching off of wealth being generated by current workers.

actually..rob-me is trying to claim thats not what i meant.. which is really what did the damage rather than his original rant...voer response to rob-mes' 47% screed had been overwhelmingly positive (judging by yahoo! comments)..until he tried to take it back...and then they dropped him like the proverbial hot pottahto...

As it turns out, the guy who filmed Mitt Romney making this speech is a huge Rachel Maddow fan.  She interviewed him today and the segment is scheduled to air tonight.  According to the videographer (you can't see it in the video) Mitt Romney gave this speech while wearing gold (as in woven 24 carat) slippers.  He said all the guests were wearing them, too.  I don't know what to make of that.  Is that a trend among rich people or something?  It seems kinda strange to me, anyway.  I'd never wear gold slippers--I don't even wear slippers.  Odd.

Mitt Romney may be the first man in human history to kick himself balls while wearing a pair of gold slippers. Seriously gold slippers?wow

I think Mitts basic message is fundamentally flawed . First he tells you the Econ is fucked and there are no jobs. Plus you dont have enough personal responsibility for that to really matter anyway cause your lazy and have been brainwashed. So Im gunna help you by cutting taxes for the rich who don't like paying for war and cut off the money your mooching off of them to feed your kids.
Next I'm gunna increase military spending more everything.
If your poor looking for work I guess all you would think is SO YOU WANT ME TO JOIN THE MILITARY? Or starve in the street looking for a job that that doesnt exist .Ya no shit a lot of people don't wanna vote for this joker.

Nah, I was just joking about the slippers.  The super rich in this country, people who game finances to skim the wealth from the productivity of the rest of us--they're the real "moochers".  As Zappa noted, the guy hasn't had a job in years, yet he (and Zappa) believe the working poor are the entitled, irresponsible ones in this society.  Yes, I agree with you, Psilynut, these plutocrats have engineered American society to keep people desperate enough to join to military, to cross the Mexican border north to work for low pay and no benefits.  There was a country not too long ago in human history that placed people like Romney in a contraption that separated their heads from their bodies; their heads fell into baskets.

Also, lets call this gold slipper stuff what it is, hearsay.  But of course hearsay = fact when referring to a Republican or Conservative.
