I think he means he personally found it undeniable. Seems like a somewhat out of context quote.

How does that change anything? Why say something is undeniable (personally or otherwise) then avoid a test that might deny it? Unless he's more interested in selling books than in determining the truth, whatever it may be. :shrug:

The JREF prize has been on the table for over 40 years.

Just thought it was interesting he'd say that as he's experienced and the rest of his work is considered legitimate by many, I understand it's not at all persuasive and I wasn't trying to form an argument with it.

I experienced it too. Then I put it to the test with controls that prevented me from deceiving myself, as humans are apt to do. Guess what I found? That I was kidding myself, yes. I had imagined all of it. There was no effect.

It was disappointing, but I'd rather be disappointed by the truth than tickled by a lie. Seems Grof prefers the latter. But that's understandable. People cling to things that seem to defy impermanence and avoid anything that might support it. None of us want's to cease existing (or look at evidence showing that eventually we will).

I meant experienced with patients on psychedelic drugs. He wasn't talking about his own experiences but others OBEs coming out with things that we're actually happening around the clinic he was working in. He said he saw it too many times to discount. Anyway I'm not interested in convincing you of anything and I basically agree with what you said.
