NDE dude somehow returns
    #15587293 -

Plane crash dude: Time is only experienced in the material plane. I died and went to Heaven. When you are in the spiritual world there is no time. All is eternity.

OC: If you were in a place without time, how much time passed before you came back? How does that work?

If I humored you about your delusions, will you still have them?

Perhaps I should take two hits and call you in the morning.

BTW: The A-Train is super sticky and almost ready for harvest - still filling out. Come down this spring after it is fully cured for a desert hike and we can spark some up.

Time is a seriously wild phenomenon that I think is very interesting.

First, you have the dimension of space-time, where time and space are one dimension and intricately linked, which means as I understand it that moving through space is moving through time.  So you have that to deal with as everything is moving through spacetime.  If anyone here knows anything about physics please chime in and explain some of the nuances of spacetime for me lol

time exists independent of your mind, or seems to.

Then, you have your actual experience of time.  It can speed up, slow down, stop altogether (sleep, shrooms) sometimes feels like it goes backwards (memories, etc.)  When the experiencer goes away, does the experienced as well?  Age old question.  Sometimes, I think it might.  Maybe that is why there are us - to be the experiencer so that all this continues.

Of everything, notice how you woke up in the morning and are here right now, as if from the time between waking up and now has been a few milliseconds once you realize it? Doesn't exist.

It depends on your total awareness on how the measurement effects you, if you are counting second to second, time will obviously take as long as it's measured, but do the opposite and 10 minutes can feel like a few seconds, it's a quite interesting practice.

Hitchens on Near Death Experiences.  He says pretty much what my thoughts are: there's no evidence whatsoever to suggest the experience is any different from any other loss of consciousness: dreaming, drug induced, struck in head

Further, the whole notion that the people 'died' seems to be founded on an ignorance of what death is and a conflation of biological death and legal death.  The law often defines death as the absence of a heartbeat (though that itself is problematic as fibrillations and sporadic contractions insufficient to sustain life may continue after a person has died by any reasonable definition.

Right, as OC has said, death is a process. Various aspects of your usual configuration fail and drawing a single line is completely arbitrary.

The top counter evidence IMO is that EVERY NDEer sees the otherwordly beings through the eyes of their religions. Even atheists that had NDEs and changed their beliefs were found to have been brought up in a religious household. Not a single Muslim or Christian brought up and living in a Muslim or Christian world ever sees Buddha during an NDE.

If there was some reality to the 'other side' the reports would not be exact, but certainly would be more cohesive. In the same way, if you and I visited Paris, we would have differing memories and experiences, but there would be many commonalities.

And of course, the silliest of all is how can you 'recognize' someone you never met before nor have never seen a photograph or accurate rendering of? Answer: You can't. You can only recognize your own projection.

I think that time passed in his physical body.

Sort of like dreaming I think. I read a book about dreams, and it said that each dream only lasts a couple of seconds. Yet, you do so much. In one dream you can walk to the store, buy a lollipop, go back to your home, chatter with some friends, finish your lollipop, and the dream is over. In your physical life that would be a good hour. But in your dream state it was only a few seconds.

When your dead time doesn't exist. So while he was dead, he didn't experience time. But his physical body did. And that was the time it took for him to return.
