I see it as an infinite loop, a veritable moebus strip.

I've made a conscious effort at denying myself speculation over what happens when one dies, and I'm better off. It is quite obvious that whatever happens is something beyond comprehension of a living being. I am a living being, so obviously I'm never gonna be able to understand it no matter how I twist my brain, unless the twisting results in death itself.

"Eternal darkness" sounds like rest to me when I'm exhausted, and like an eternal torment when I'm stimulated. Fact is it's neither. It's something I can't imagine. Why bother thinking about it at all when I'm obviously not equipped to understand it?
