For a 'mini white light' experience, hit yourself over the head with a frying pan.

The 'stars' you see are neural misfires. When you go to the Happy Hunting ground, you get one gigantic misfire.

The darkness before this life came to an end, when I was born.  What makes the darkness after life any different?

im pretty sure the light at the end of the tunnel isnt the only near death account

i figure most of near death phenomenon can be explained by the persons relationship to their own life

If that were the case, how do people come back to awarenss here from ETERNAL darkness to tell us about the experience of the FINAL misfiring of their neurons during their NDE?

Org, you made a thread about NEAR death experiences... then in your first post, you tell us your ( I'm assuming it is a) theory about what happens when you DIE. Death sn't a NDE it is a DE!

Anyway, do you have a source to back up your claim. It would be quite interesting to discover all our neurons fire at once right before we die... and it looks like a tunnel.

You know, you're making an awful big leap of faith for a rationalist, IMO.  There is still so much we don't know, and even what we do know could have some significant implications.  What about alternate universes, a valid mathmatical possibility in physics.  Perhaps we enter into a different universe upon our earthly demise, one with different rules of physics and expression of consciousness.

My point is, no one really knows for sure what happens when we die.  So why don't you just admit you don't know?  Is not knowing such a scary thing to face?
