are these jars contaminated?

these jars are 8 days old and there is no sign of mycelium growth, but the substrate looks wet and slimy. is this some kind of contamination? in the shroomery contamination faq it seems to look like wet spot but this substrate is brf and verm not grain.

temps are at around 70 during the night and 75+ during the day. if the substrate was too wet is there still any chance of mycelium growth?

sorry it was the best i could do with my shitty quickcam.....but is it still possible to grow if the substrate was too wet or something?

Give them time young grasshopper.  I have had it take over two weeks to see the first signs of growth.  I have read that it can take up to a month in some cases.  One cannot rush mother nature.  :smile:

what the others are saying is true but since we can't tell anything from those pictures I do suggest you look at the contam faqs. It is one of the sticky posts at the top of the forum.

Since you say it looks slimey you might want to look at and read up on wet spot aka bacillus

Temps should be 10 degrees higher for faster colonization.

i already checked the contamination faq but it only mentions of wet spot occuring on grain. i am using brf and verm, so is it possible to occur on that? btw the jars were pc for 1 hr at 10 psi but i think i may have put too much water in the pc......around 8 cups.

If it looks slimy chances are its toast..Can you post better pics? PC'ing for an hour at 10psi is not enough, you should have gone for at least two hours
