Power of delusion
    #15060561 -

Take a schizophrenic for example, this shows the power of the mind over emotion.

A highly delusional person finds highs in his fantasies, each sign the person see's adds to the faith in the delusion. Since a delusional person is more in solitude, they are more likely to make conversations with themselves, which they then forget that they're actually creating the conversation, and starts to begin to believe that the actual voice is someone else, thus creating an alternative way to gain faith. Now since religious folk are so highly faithful in their beliefs, they feel a high from it, and they then are led to believe that it's because of their religion they feel that way. So basically the human becomes addicted heavily on feelings. And that's why they are so dangerous, because the mindset they have they actually believe they are right, and if you were to take that away from them through proof they then fall into a sort of depression, which some try the easy way out.

So doesn't that give the person some sort of actual power over themselves that they don't realize they have. Science would be considered a safe way to gain that power of 'faith'(feeling) without falling too hard.

Take an ego death for example, that shows  you are in control of your emotion, shows the power of the belief in ones self.
- the ego death represents the fault in your ego that you need to work on to gain peace of mind.

It's gaining complete control that takes practice.
Basically shows our addiction to emotion and one of the many ways we figure out how to feel it, for another example: love.

Delusion comes from the ego's attempt at taking possession of god nature.

I see delusion as a type of addiction. Having grandeur puts the person on a whole other level of emotion, and since it feels good, the person keeps at it.

I believe God is more of a state of mind one can achieve when deluded themselves enough to the point they believe they are God.

Droz, what medications are you on currently?

I've had a misdiagnosed case of schizoaffective/drug-induced psychosis, which then psychiatrists admitted me into a psychiatry unit and put me on Risperdal.

No help whatsoever after 2 months of use, so i settled with the conclusion that I have DP/DR.

Also, not to derail the topic, aren't there positive delusions that affect those who are schizophrenic?

Yes, self-worth 'delusions' provide a more positive experience.

I'm on clozapine to help me sleep, I was on risperdal at the begining and that didn't help me either, lexapro is not bad, I believe there is a mental way to get complete control of it, with medications the control of it is only temporary for me.

I am at peace with the voices which helps a great deal, you just have to work at it.

Feel important, tbh.

Toward people it's like, you pass someone driving on the highway and realize you don't know who they are or anything about them, which makes the question what worth is there by trying to know people? Which then made me fully reliant on myself, never to put trust in people without weighing in the possible negative outcomes along with the positive. So basically everything you believe you always have to keep in mind that it may be false, that prepares you if your faith is really in a delusion.
Also think about when I die, no other person comes with me, so that lowers my opinion of worth of an individual. Interacting with people can have positives but also have the chance to be negative. Which caused me to completely discipline all my emotions, knowing when to hold back my emotion, and also to let it known. When interacting I weigh in how my words and facial expressions/body language could effect that person whether it be positive or negative. I've learned that being too positive causes others to like to be around you, which is not always good because sometimes it gets annoying, but I believe they are just chasing that emotion they felt when they first interacted with you. Also I learned that it's better to deal with being alone early in age rather than when you are close to old age. Basically when you don't believe you have anything to gain from another that you can't gain for yourself, you become standoffish. Time alone gives you so much time to self reflect and work on yourself, master your delusions and emotions.

The world to me seems to be at a bad state, not enough respect toward other beings. With the voices, they are not always humans, sometimes animals/insects seem to respond to my thoughts as well. Which gives me so much more respect for them, and realize they are just like a human being just in a different form. If you think of the mentallity of a pig about to be slaughtered is really depressing and causes a lot of sympathy/pity towards the insects and animals.

The world IMO, needs a person to find a state of being that has completely conquered all negative emotions so that all they feel is positive. They need to learn why there are negative emotions and actions towards them, the world seems to be lost. There are so many religions out there that cause the believers to be ignorant and bitter to anything in the world, they truly need a single being that can prove it's superiority over them so that they know how to 'be' by using that being as an example to how they should live.

I'll attempt to point out the flaws in you're theory. The delusions of schizophrenics aren't necessarily positive ones and as a result they don't necessarily induce positive emotions. Delusions of a negative nature cause lows not highs. Some schizophrenics would give anything to be free of delusions and hallucinations. I don't know if I understand what you're saying but I've observed many things concerning this control in lucid dreams and other altered states. For example if I want to make an object materialise in a dream, I find it very difficult to make it appear then and there. Instead I create a story that involves me and the object crossing paths then I start acting out that story and when it comes to the point in the story when I cross paths with the object, it will appear. Its extremely subtle how it appears and I'm always awestruck by the complexity of the stage my brain sets for me to play out the story. I've noticed that while I don't have direct control, I can control things indirectly. I have learned that the same thing applies to the waking state. Heres something very interesting to try: Write a story about a person that resembles yourself. Physically write this story down on paper. All the things that you would like to happen to yourself, make them happen to the character in the story. In the future see if you find any correlations between that characters life and your own

Yeah, I am schizophrenic I know very well of negative delusions unfortunately, I found a way to control the delusions so I thought I'd share my thoughts on it, thanks for the suggestion about dreaming.

I believe it takes a schizophrenic to help another schizophrenic, rather than psychiatrists who never experienced schizophrenia.

Ah right, sorry. Do you lucid dream much yourself? I find it provides a medium to learn things about reality that cannot be learned any other way that I know of.

Not really, sounds quite fun, but I think I found a connection with intuition/energy based on what I've been experiencing so that's been taking up a lot of my time. What type things do you learn from it?

Since you can control your dream and somewhat basically like your saying write a script for it then act it out, maybe that's a way of future movie making, by somehow learning how to view dreams, have multiple people connected to the same dream, in which each person can create in that dream.
