Stress and Spiritual Wellness

Everyone has stress and deals with it on a daily basis.  Not many people think about stress in a spiritual aspect, though.

Spiritual stress may include ethical and moral decision making, feelings of guilt, and the acceptance or rejection of religious beliefs.  Too little spiritual stress may result in a failure to resolve issues such as death and the meaning of one's life.  At the other extreme, too much spiritual stress can manifest itself in spiritual coercion (such as cults) or in the kind of overwhelming guilt that results in suicide.  It is important to work thorugh difficult spiritual issues and develop a philosophy of life.  The latter can guide you when difficult decisions and issues arise.  Finding a spiritual balance provides comfort, joy, and a sense of purpose.

tracing back where the feelings of guilt come from can help

ive gone through a mother of a spiritual rollercoaster, that i'm still on.... there are a few helpful things that I remind myself of:

you cant change the past
everything you practice regularly becomes a part of you
you are only human and have limitations
no matter how shitty you feel, things are about to come back around again and you'll have another chance to start making things right

I'd bet I have only 1% of the stress of the average person has. I can get angry at times(its rare), but never violent.
