Grow up kid, I know it's fun to be a college age know it all, but in a few years when you think back to how much of a douche you were to people that were just trying to have a fair debate you will regret it.

People like you claim to be so open minded, but here you are making mass generalizations about a group of people whom you've never met. If you were truly the intellectual you think you are you'd be smart enough to see this.

A fair debater doesn't simply eschew his opposition on a basis of blind faith. You are a hypocrite of phenomenal proportion. Furthermore, your presumptions of my age and background are more straw-man smokescreen. I have done this a hundred times before, which is why I am not bothering to actually debate the topic now, as obviously none of you have studied the topic.

For the majority you should just say what you mean. You can't expect everyone to do what you did.

Only returning the fire that without fail licks my toes every time such a discussion is outlined in an informal circumstance. For all the hate we atheists receive, even at times the blame (for, well, everything) you shouldn't be surprised we would hold the likes of the superstitious in contempt.

When you begin a thread with offensive language, that's how I carry it. What was expected?

I love how it's "broad generalization" and "rude" when we target the religious, but when Atheism is gunned with the same hateful rhetoric, it takes pages just for someone to even notice the first shots whizz cross the bow.

I seriously doubt that if it came down to you in the afterlife, and a big voice directed you look at two paths: a pit of fire, and a city in the clouds, that you would choose the pit of fire.

No, he's hurting himself. He's turning off his brain for a warm fuzzy feeling, and now he's likely to do that in other situations as well. Humans saved his wife, not god and he should give them credit. Faith is ignorance and we already have plenty of ignorant people running around.


I still fail to see how him believing in a God is hurting him. Hes alive and happy with his wife. What makes him worse off than you just because he believes in god. Purely hypothetical, what if the afterlife does come, is he still hurting himself then? Would you be the one who had hurt yourself by being so vehemently opposed to the idea of a creator?

Also: say the afterlife doesn't come, its just black or whatever afterward, did either of you hurt yourselves in the long run by believing in what you did? Its personal belief, who the fuck is anyone to try and 'shine the light' in anothers eyes, especially by calling them ignorant?
