waking up sucks

I was back in Europe, in Paris to be specific, walking through the Louvre with my best friend and a few others. As we turn a corner, a tall spanish woman with a few freckles on her beautiful face and amazing flowing black hair bumps into me. She apologizes and looks into my eyes, and we stare at each other, with all other activity around us ceasing to exist. "Come with me," she says. "I can't," I reply. "I'm here with my friends." She gives me a desperate look. What am I thinking? "Yes, yes, of course I'll come." I tell my friends that I will meet up with them later. The woman and I start to walk off together, and I'm still mesmerized by the beauty of her face and the way that she carries herself. I've never seen a woman this beautiful in all of my life. It just feels right. All of a sudden I hear knocking. It is someone knocking on my door. It was a fucking dream. My mom comes into my room and wakes me up. "Your dad is coming over here to talk about last night." I shower and go downstairs. My dad comes over and explains why I shouldn't be drinking and how irresponsible it was of me to have people over to his house while he was gone. I'm grounded. After these two weeks my curfew is 9 pm until I regain trust. All I want is to go back to sleep. At least when life sucks, my dreams make up for it.

Sleep is forgiving, no doubt about it.  Best of luck dealing with the parents, I've been there and know how stubborn they can be.  Just try to be as honest as you can with them to let them know that you are in fact responsible enough to handle a few brews with your friends... that is, unless you ended up burnin' down half of the house while you were at it :wink:

fortunately no house-burnings this time... who knows if the parents will come around, but at least i will have a lot of time to read and meditate over the next few weeks.

Being grounded is nothing but waking up prematurely when you are having a wonderfull dream like that is just horrible...sorry :frown:

It always seems like the best dreams end in waking up. For once I would like to see a dream through to it's final conclusion and actually remember it in the morning.

unfortunately, yes... 9 is pretty brutal but i figure it isn't worth the effort to fight them about it. i might as well just get back on their good sides so that i can have more freedom back once it's over. and i have actually been enjoying the extra time to myself so far... little shroom knows his shit.

now that you mention that, i can hardly remember any dreams that haven't been interrupted by waking up. it seems like there is almost a natural reaction to wake up when a dream is reaching it's climax.
