being stuck
    #1370264 - 03/12/03 06:36 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

some things i thought about during my most recent mushroom trip:

i thought i was just lighting a stick of dead plant material on fire and inhaling the smoke into my lungs. i didn't know

i was just another fly

getting stuck

in the honey.

i thought i was supposed to wake up every morning and go to school. it was a fact of life, like eating

and sleeping

and shitting

and weeping.

i didn't know

i was just another fly

getting stuck

in the great web weaved

by the spider

of society.

i didn't think anything because i was just a babe spewing forth from my mother's womb. i didnt' know i was going to have to live...

and i was going to have to die.

i was going to laugh,

and i was going to cry.

i thought,

no,

i didn't think.

and now i'm stuck.

i was a bird that once flew free in the forest. now i am in a cage.

i was a river that once flowed freely to the ocean. now i am stagnating lake held back by a dam.

i was once.

and now i'm stuck.

in the muck.

what the fuck?

that shit sucks.

who chained me down?
who cut my wings?
who slit my throat,
which once did sing?

there's only one answer
that can be
and defying it
can set you free
the answer is
society.

cut the strings that move your arms,
you foolish, dancing marionettes.
bite the fucking hands that feed you,
don't be trained just like your pets.

I like that...and I fucking hate poetry, so that's saying something.

Poetry is the peak (so far) of communication by spoken word. It's like saying you play violin but cannot appreciate the most talented violinists in the world.

cool poem. i like the part starting with "i was once" the most. all too true society has so much influence on us from our birth. we cannot really defend ourselves from what we've been raised to become when we are growing up.

it is society that would have you believe ignorance is bliss.

sometimes I think every time I feel depressed it is just aftershocks of whatever mental tempering i went through as a kid. i feel traumatized from like a black hole that is like 12 years of my life, that I don't remember too well either.

i think this is a time when outside influences had me by the balls and i feel like ill spend the rest of my life trying to shake those empty perspectives away... either that or just give into them

Thanks guys!  It's been a while since anything creative has come out of me, and I was really happy when this randomly appeared from my mind the other night!  I was going to make a normal post, but somehow it turned into this poem!  I appreciate your nice comments.

That is truely awesome.

Have any of you ever wanted to spread the word to those captured by our society, but  couldnt simply out of the fear of looking like just another paranoid schitzo? Just that crazy guy on the corner screaming at the top of his lungs about how TV is evil and how our government is trying to control us with media. I know I do. Of course this fear is just a sign of wanting to stay inside our society instead of truely being free. Ive never admired these crazy people until just now, just as long as they are not violent in any way. Being "crazy" is just a label that this society pins on those who realize the truth. I recently watched the movie "Donnie Darko" and it gave me a better understanding for how some people may not JUST be mentaly ill, but may also have substance to their condition and exist on a higher plane than those who can't understand them.

In other words, great poem!!!!!

I was really fucked up but I don't blame it on society. I do think society is a joke. But that's not the reason my life is fucked. My life is actually great, just not from the point of view of society. That makes me fucked too. Either way, screwed. But then, screwing is my favorite action. So it's all good yes? Okay then. Fuck everything.

To everyone who thinks they are trapped by soceity, by the world, by the very mental devices in their minds, remember one thing.

Without the experience of being bound, caged, farmed, the feeling of freedome doesnt exist.

A bird only tastes the sweetness of freedom, when he has tasted the bitter metal on the cage.

Freedom resides within you. It is what you trully are, it is not a goal, it begins internally like anything.

You are free. Just knowing that you are bound, assumes you know what freedom could be. But the only way we can know what something could be, is to have experienced what it is.

The mind is a creative tool. It searches to protect you, through message sensations(feelings). It is no different than a computer, you need to make sure its anti-virus program is in check and that it doesnt have a script that limits your experience, because of to much precaution.

And remember the computer does not appear to respond to words of anger and frustration - just give it input, in the form of new meanings that you know to be true and its messages to you and the limits it lays out for you, will change.

Guilt is an outcome of believing you are the cause of the problems.

Yet, we are not a cause to something, we see is negative or bad - Unless you believe your intentions are directed towards a bad outcome....
