Buddhism the only spiritual practice that makes sense.
    #13696904 -

Okay guys, i'm going through a really strange phase of my life and i can't get rid of this idea.
After ingesting psychedelics life has changed for me Both good and bad.
I was born into a Christian family never really was all into god and religion and all that anyway.
But after tripping it's starting to phase me that the only religion/spiritual practice that makes sense is Buddhism.
I look at other religions and and think wow these are just different Delusions of spiritual connection.
I can't stand to see people rely on a so called GOD for everything , I don't say i don't believe in god I think essentially we are GOD, we all are part of god and from Greek mythology it seems that god has different personalities which create the idea of "multiple gods" but perhaps it was misunderstood as identity crisis for the god and from there it just multiplied with time to the most complex emotions which we experience now in the year 2000.
Honestly it's sad to see people relying on god, because just like a drug eventually you'll find yourself to the point where only god can help you.
Do you really believe that when you say "God, please help me pass this test"  or whatever else bullshit people pray about these days that god is really sitting there trying to satisfy everyone's needs?
To me religions seems a very huge illusion of the human complexity to rely on something when you feel helpless. Think about it everything Christians or other god believing religions all say one thing when they can't explain something "Oh, that's how god created it. "
And to be honest seems Buddhism is the only religion that really makes sense It's all about the body and the mind. I never seen any stories of Buddhists going to war for power, or killing people or enforcing their religion on others.
Also, it seems a lot of the Buddhists live a lot longer with much healthier life styles and a life full of compassion and love for all living things.
The practice itself seems also very thought out and very complex and lot of the shit makes sense. Not a bunch of Sci-Fi like the bible. Seriously , the bible should be in libraries under Science Fictions because relying on someone that may not even exist is pure nonsense..You call it Faith? I call it massive brainwashing that only leads us to self destruction...

God can't help you, you need to help yourself.

It's a little improper to say you are God but it's better than saying you're some other vague concept we seem to have a vague agreement upon called a 'human being' locked onto a rock ball whom is merely balls of energy which accidently slapped together after nothing exploded and created some awesome physical laws which we merely used to make better machines to kill ourselves with. You know, it's just more... optimistic?

I wonder how far this materialist paradigm will go before they realise they're just being a bunch of ignorant assholes?

Perhaps it's best to just say you are imagining everything, including any sense of self. Included in that is some sort of God-ness, certainly some kind of divinity, for love is divinity and your true nature is love. You feel it when you stop distracting yourself with things that are not real.

It's one being, entity or consciousness imagining everything, and being infinite, it can create 'selves', even eternal spirits. Anything. It's imaginary. What can stop it?

:pipesmoke:

Right on.
Ever since i tripped and was interested in buddhism I want nothing more in life then share happyness with my other half.
To me TRUE LOVE towards somebody , especially  a stranger is way more worth then any Material things in the world money, power, making a name in the world (in good or evil).
Because material won't make you happy when you walk into a place where it's pure spiritual energies and perhaps Love energies can spread better then ones who have none (People who fuel evil) so they will rot in the ground and forever forgotten.

Who knows.

Oh and I think Hinduism has a large amount of useful tid bits for Ending Suffering... but for me Buddhism, specifically Vipassana, has been the most straight forward practice.

I find it much easier to understand buddhism when i'm under the influence  :scaryshroom:
It is only then my mind is in a perfect bliss setting to begin spiritual practice. Because now "normally" i'm all anxious and depressed so it's hard to sit around and try to relax and breathing my thoughts keep going negative. Marijuana helps me meditate better but only with mushrooms i can get a nice suspension of my ego (which i plan to change but only know is through Psychs and mediations.

I encourage you to play with Vipassana techniques, or concentration on the breath/candle/kasina while under the influence of psychedelics... Initially I found ayahuasca to be the most helpful in any practice of meditation... After a certain point I had to abandon psychedelics, as they were majorly interfering with my meditation, and not in a good way...

Psychs are no fun when in the Dark Night of the Soul in your meditation...

Buddhism is full of Si-Fi too if you practice it as a religion.

Stick to the basics. Only.

Yeah. don't romanticize buddhism too much friend. As Icelander said, it is also full of BS and symbolicism as well as responsible for quite a number of not so compassionate actions throughout it's history.

Practice is key, not belief.

Of course, i would never want to follow Buddhism as a hardcore religion. I would only use some it's philosophies and most of its teaching seem very important especially when an individual is tripping they can guide you into very special places something that any other MAINSTREAM spiritual practices wouldn't really be able to do.

I've seen/read a lot of stories about certain east countries and certain groups of individuals performing mass suicides and other weird shit like that for "Spiritual Purposes"

Not all of us in IQ wise are intelligent, but some are intelligent in a very delusional way creating this very detailed and "legitimate" stories.

Call me a nut but most of the religious stories certainly all sound like Alien / Advanced civilization that have come here to visit where we obviously could not put into complex scientific words so we used Mythology and other easy to identify things within nature.

The burning bush from moses where god talks to him about the laws we should follow and whatnot.. Really sounds like a spaceship with lights that where behind a bush perhaps and he couldn't explain what that light was so he identified as a flames.
And the god talking to him ?
Maybe the aliens know a way to speak telepathically and obviously moses doesn't know what telepathy is so he thought it was a god talking to him since the idea of other beings in this world back where earth was even thought flat i mean com on lol

how can we trust these stories where the same people thought that if you pass the little water channel between Spain and Morocco you fall off earth lol.

I've also heard a few theories that the bush that apparently might have been burning was a psychedelic plant so moses was just high as fuck tripping balls.
All the explained facts in the bible sound like a psychedelic trip to me too but hey. Who knows.

So far i'm leaning towards the idea that Aliens were just misinterpreted as Gods.

Well if you're going to take buddhism into account- it's made pretty clear that all thoughts lead to suffering, therefore true ascension from suffering lies in death.

I get your point, but mine was aimed at actualizing a practice outside of religious perimeters. Once you truely have had enough of drama, it becomes as easy as abstaining from too much food. You just stand aside of the unraveling pettyness people seem so fond of and you are grateful for it. Religion and it's intrinsic rituals included.

hmmmm

what i notice is that you are speaking a lot about negating belifs that don't make sense, ebause people made you belive those things and you learned they weren't true, but that is a dangerous path because until you stop doing that , and instead only focus on the good things, you will not find anything you are looking for : rather, you will find all the things you don't want to see in the world, there is an almost endless sea of conflict for people that seek it , an endless sea of wrong ideas,

looking for truth , has seemed to make you think Buddhism makes sense, and it does

so does Christianity , Christianity and Buddhism are the same thing, but Christians don't realize it ,

the message of Jesus, Lao Tsu, and the Buddha is entirely the same, even reincarnation of the being is in the Bible "Who are you , some say you are John ? "

"Before even Abraham I AM . "  the problem would be if someone comes to you to say you should do this, you should do that, then you get confused, well, i think we all do if that is happening to us

a real Christian would never convert a single person, they would only speak truth and truth is not YOU SHOULD BE A CHRISTIAN, truth is you should know the TRUTH,

truth is you should know the truth , an apple is an apple no matter what people call it but ideally speaking the different words do contain a different invocation of energy and conditioned societal perception of that thing which is beyond what we call it

we only called an orange orange, because of its color ? or why ?

The negation of suffering arises from spiritual practice. Absorption in bliss yields non experience of pain. This is attainable by some and has been demonstrated in various ways by various yogis, etc. That is not necessarily worth striving for as meditation purifies our karmas and prevents a huge sea of crap from manifesting in life. This makes life in general very good , and in so being good , it purifies ourselves to have even more of it.

Further beyond this it is simple : what comes and arises when realized with the right mind is not suffering, thought alone is what causes suffering.

the negativity of buddhism that disease, birth, death, inevitable is not really the point, disease is not inevitable it requires a right upbringing and cultivation of yourself in dignity and practice so that you build a body-mind that is not corruptible. Safe sungazing gardual practice ala HRM ( google solar healing center ) works for that one. Chanting of gayatri mantra each day makes disease impossible.

Cultivatino of prana destroys it. Some will say this is not true but they haven't tried it. With kundlaini flowing there is immortality. Kundalini awakens over time through yoga, pranayama, mantra, or maybe sitting meditation ( as the slowest way ) .

Faith without works is dead.

PEOPLE SEEM TO THINK :  Life is a guitar amp ,every person is putting a note into you and its on infinite feedback and delay, and you are powerless. Really , all those notes are easily mutable, you can put it to a stop ( vipassana , etc ) , and then you can play your own song.

furthermore typing , etc, is usually not a mistake

gardual
guard - you - all,
is it a typo ? nope . but it was an accident , but it had meaning.

one way of enlightenment as it is is to expand into greater patterns of higher awareness, intelligence, creativity and freedom, this requires the desire to release and flow.

I don't take much of Buddhism to heart, but I humbly believe that all thoughts will lead to some form of suffering- it's apart of the human experience... to suffer. While we may be able to cease a lot of suffering, I don't think it's entirely possible until the ebb and flow of thoughts cease... which is death

Now pain on the other hand, is different from suffering. Pain is subjective...

I don't know dude, to me, pain is the manifestation of suffering and again, to me, the mecanism or the causes of suffering can be understood so there comes a point where you can step out of the '' play '' and come sit in the audience and enjoy the show. By sitting in the audience, you can still feel the emotions the characters are trying to convey, but you don't identify with them; that is buddhism in essence. It is taoism too. And it is also sufism etc etc.

In that sense, grasping those mecanism intellectually has it's merit because it can enable one to achive a flawless practice.

Yes, I do think that de-attachment from a lot of the 'cosmic drama' is possible, but ultimately we will still suffer... death is the only real escape from that. But I say... enjoy the suffering while you can
