did prop19 backfire?...

there was some speculation at the beginning of the 2010 campaign season that prop19 would drive more liberals to the polls in CA...

that didnt happen...the liberals did win in CA..but it wasnt because of prop19...in fact..prop19 might have driven conservatives to the polls in other states.. and the resulting repug win is almost certain to lead to an escalation of prohibition...

so in your opinion..did prop19 stir up the dreaded "silent majority" outside CA?...thx...

Anybody with half a brain can see that your precious liberals support prohibition just as much, if not more, than your scary "repugs".  Look at their voting record.  Look at the number of people tossed in prison during various presidents administration for non-violent drug related offenses (notice the huge jump during Clinton's reign?)  Look at how quickly Obama has moved to stop people from being imprisoned for using cocaine, the same illegal drug that he used to use.

No.  I don't think that drug users are nearly as partisan as you do.

By half a brain, I'm not speaking towards intelligence, but rather towards a blindness of partisanship.  Probably a poor choice of words.

look how quickly he stepped up for marijuana and and tobacco users, some
other drugs he smoked. I guess we know what he really loves smoking

California has been in Democratic hands for quite some time. Doesn't seem to have helped them much.

Which leaves me with 2 questions:

1. Are you Jimbotron?
2. Have you ever had a non-partisan thought?

Jimbotron has actually had a non-partisan post or three, so I doubt this is the case.

bill clinton was about as liberal as atilla the hun...so are many other candidates liberals vote for...liberals can only vote for the more liberal candidate.. but being more liberal than someone else doesnt make you a liberal...

drug prohibitionists are definitely hyper-partisan.. despite congressional democrats' apparent support for the drug war..which i still think is because they too fear a backlash from the silent majority if they dont go along...

You left out presidents and judges as well.  I don't know what fantasy world you are living in, but prohibition crosses partisan lines, even if you do not.  Carter was the only high ranking Democrat that I can think of that has been anti-prohibition, and look how well he did with it.

carters' example actually backs the "silent majority" theory (more below)...

judges are bound by mandatory sentencing laws.. while presidents are under the same political pressure as MCs ..namely that the repugs hold all the trump cards...

no democratic politician would ever call prohibition into serious question.. but they generally keep silent until a repug congressional majority and/or a repug POTUS decides to escalate..after which they will either rubber stamp the escalation or make it even worse...prolly because their not sure if carter was beaten by a bad or economy or a prohibitionist silent majority...

So even though Democrats had a large enough majority to pass healthcare against Republican wishes, they are still impotent when it comes to revoking prohibition, something they are all supposedly against?  I call bullshit.  You are wearing partisan glasses and refuse to acknowledge that the Democrats are just as corrupt as the Republicans when it comes to prohibition.
