My misery? What misery, I feel only a slight feeling of guilt. I think I'm already coming to grips with it.

Right, how would you know if you're miserable. I should have said put you out of our misery.

I think what you experience is more or less normal to some degree. Some, because of personal ethics, find ways not to act on it.

Of course, those are the weak.  Predators prey on the weak.

No, thats different.

Predator/prey relationships are there for survival purposes, not for indulgence and pleasure.

What he is describing most definately is not related to survival.

No one can fault you for having feelings that occur naturally. Your decision on whether to act or not determines what kind of person you are.

And so does your enjoyment and lack of guilt for having them.

When I was a child I remember having the occasional flashes of rage when thinking about innocent/stupid things like you described, I imagined hurting them, I dont know why they made me so angry . Even at that age those fantasys made me feel sick, I haven't felt anything like it since I was around 10 years old.

I used to have this tendency to just want to ruin peoples' joy.  Like if a family member was acting really happy then I'd mock them or something to make them feel bad.  Those urges probably stemmed from how fucked up my own life was. No idea really.  I never remember consciously taking pleasure in that, though.  It was usually the opposite I would say to myself "Why the fuck did I just do that? It was really mean. I'm an asshole." and would feel guilty about it.

Anyways, you should try telling your girlfriend how you think about her.  Maybe she'll find it romantic.

No, if you have a slight feeling of guilt, which he said he had then he's not a sociopath.

Yeah I think people throw around the word sociopath too lightly, violent fantasys are pretty common from what ive gathered.

Not to say they aren't out there. Up to 5% of the population qualifies as sociopath or psychopath. Be careful how you choose your companions.

I met up with a man who bullied me in school when he was three years older than me. I found him in the streets with his friends and jumped him, his friends ran away, I dragged him into bushes, covered his mouth and started sticking him with a needle and elbowing his face. He probably died.
