Why am I being tortured?

I live a fairly normal life. I work, do homeschool, play baskketball, and indluge in psychedelics. I listen to music and read everyday.


Ever since I was 5, Ive always had intense, vivid dreams. 90% of my dreams, ever since I was 5, have also been painful, horrible, nightmares.

Either Im being chased, hurt, dying, scared, confused, or all.

Sometimes I would stay up as much as I can to avoid these, but that would only lead to me falling asleep in a difficult way, leading to sleep paralysis which is more scary.



Now Ive never had any traumatic experiences. Never been abused, raped, etc.

Over the past few years, these dreams have gotten worse. Now I get them every night, and they make me fear sleeping.

Trauma is the usual reason for recurring nightmares, but it could be anything. Have you ever seen anyone about it?

a psychologist, not a pscyhiatrist.
They CAN help u !!
I didn't belive this before, but I do now.
Also, it's VERY imp to get a psycholgist who
resonates with u. You might have to try em
out till u find someone who u feel right with.

I don't know if I can help at all, but is there ANYTHING you can think of in your waking conscious life that your scared of, or is really bothering you?

that would probably be the best way to start... try and remember any traumatic events and see if theres anyway you can re-enact and confront them?

you know, i had repeating nightmares when i was a bit younger. it would always be the same thing: I'd be walking along in my dream or whatever, and then all of a sudden I would get these bad vibes and start seeing scary shit, and then the dream would climax with a blood curling scream, it was REALLY scary cause I couldn't tell if it was somebody screaming beside me or it was me howling this despicable scream. This is when I would make myself wake up cause I was afraid of what would happen after the scream ended. So after a while I decided to just face it and NOT try to wake up. The next few times I had the nightmare I realized how silly it was and laughed at it. Never had a nightmare like that since.  :smile:  So the moral of my story is to face your nightmare, just see what happens, ride it out, or even embrace it. It is only yourself that is scaring you, your own subconcious playing tricks on you.  Maybe you could start a dream diary in order to understand the reasons and meanings of your bad dreams instead of trying to forget and avoid them. I know its easy to give advice like this but I hope it is of some use to you. Good luck and sleep well!

if you ever end up in sleep paralysis, you can go out of body, that is the shit right there. i agree in that you have to beat the fear. understand that you have nothing to run from, no reason to stress at all. the dreams are nothing more than your own subconscious fears, HARMLESS fears.

just do like Neo in the Matrix, when anything bothers you or tries to chase you hold up your hand in complete confidence knowing you are in control and stop whatever is coming at you.  Then with your mind make them disappear.  And if your good enough at it you can zap them into fine ass models and have a lucid orgy, muhahaha, thats almost like me telling you to go fuck yourself now isnt it :grin: :grin:

sounds like time to start working on lucidity - I think if you start showing more interest in your dreams consciously, they may be nicer to you..

But of course; I'm no psy-major - I could be wrong :smile:

well, Ive had a lot of challenges.


My relationship with my girlfriend is rather stressful.

I have some kind of disease that im in the process of getting dianogsed....something similiar to MS, ive been suffering a lot and its very scary.





A lot of my dreams are centered around aliens, and they are one of my biggest fears. Now Im not going to say my experiences with them are real, or Im schizophrenic. Either way, ive had bad run ins. While on acid, and for a while almost every , SINGLE night before going to sleep I felt they were trying to contact me. I would almost ALWAYS fall into sleep paralysis and feel like im being pulled from my body.


Every since I was young, Ive always been intuitive and spiritual, even if I didnt know it. Outcast from birth, spiritual by nature. More anger than anyone I know, but underneath it all I have the biggest heart filled with love and compassion.


Getting a little carried away - my point is that a LOT of my nightmares involve contacts with ET beings, either that or dreams that I SWEAR are meant to teach me lessons and prepare me for something.




Have you guys ever done something - and out of the blue something in your head clicks? You just realize something amazing - and its spectacular!


That happens in most of these dreams right before I wake up. Almost like Im being taught something.




The problem with this theory is though, of course - that I have not seen changes in my waking life. I have noticed nothing of improvement.

So what is my subconscious doing? Is it trying to help me? Is it preparing me for something? is it maybe really aliens? Could it be a sign Im schizophrenic?




Ugh, and to think, Im going to be sleeping in less than 2 hours

I just went on Paxil as I was also having horrible thoughts. If you can get past the first week of side effects, they decrease and the Paxil is actually working. I recommend giving that a thought for obsessinve thoughts. I havn't found anything else that has worked. I can understand cognative therapy works for a lot of people, but it never worked for me. Now that I am feeling happier I am going to do cognative therapy.

Ive tried.


The only way to stop fearing them is to confront them. So far every night I lay in bed no lights, no tv whatever - with the intent to confront any possibly contact or dreams.


I am still afraid - but I confront them no matter what. My fear of them has lessened, but they are sitll painful

Have you ever talked about it before?

Maybe your posts here will prepare your sleeping mind for the dream and you might be able to make some progress...

I guess the more you focus on dreams while your awake, the easier it is to focus on them when your asleep. Also, gaining lucidity might give you some sort of answer. So maybe you should read up on that a little...

the fear isnt a major factor, and doesnt bother me. Its the experiences that I hate.

I dont remember my dreams from last night...wait

I went to the end of my neighborhood and went in someones house and used thier water slide above thier starcase.

Then I went to 2 monks house and immeditaely was effected by the atmosphere. They askedme to draw a picture of them, and one of the monk or guru or whatever said "This is all wrong. Your perpective wrong"

So then I leave and I see on tv them skinning lizards.


Weird, but enjoyable, for once
