I would think that since we get five senses (that we've learned of), these neat bodies and these fancy brains, allowing us to enter and create situations where we record and anylize tons of data (espcially compared to a plant, for instance.. heh), our ideas hence dreams are very complicated.

As for whether or not our "reality" is some type of dreamscape, I don't know but this reality sure is convincing

i like stephen gaskin's take on it:
there are about as many people alive right now, as have lived on this planet in total since the time of alley oop the cave man...
and since the time of the primrodial buddha until now, enlightened beings have appeared among us...
a "bell curve" of all peoples at all times & the buddhas/christs/prophets/avatars of all times & the present time, would suggest that RIGHT NOW there are as many awakened beings on this old planet as there have been throughout all of our history & prehistory as human beings, living on great mother Ge dancing around father Sol, since the time of the garden, since the time of the great pan-african drought, since our ancestors left the broad savannas of africa to splash & play in the ocean shallows, & then (so greatly changed from genus Pan, our closest relatives, who had stayed in the interior, instead of moving to the estuaries) to begin the several great radiations out to the other continents & eventually across the deep of the oceans... way, way back in the day...

it is an odd line to draw, going into an approximately stupefying direction, that does not seem to help anything with here and now kinds of issues related to intimacy, union, ecstacy, wisdom, etc.

instead it brings up fearful legends - who wants to go into such a committed direction?
