The purpuse of dreams is not always to make them reality.

Most of my dreams are just that, and I enjoy them as that,
they have no tendency to become reality.

Dreaming is an extention of percieving
And one day both of them will become one.

Good suggestion. If he wrote a book called, The Inability to Dream, starting with his life experiences to the now, it would all unravel for him.

Only when it was done, he wouldn't want to publish it because he will get the ability back.

Funny, I was telling my huasband last week that I think everyone when they hit age 40 should write an autobiography just for therapeutic benefit.

Swam, have you considered that an accumulation of some major dissapointments might have brought on a mild form of depression, by mild, I mean you can function, but the depression is holding you down and or back in some respects.

Maybe the old reasoning or ration you applied to the past dissapointments needs to be rewritten by being seen or understood in a new light. Think of how someone who would've gotten over and beyond them well would've reasoned and rationed their way through those experiences and then adopt those and apply them to the past to change the now.

ya got nothing to loose but so much to gain. Just some more thoughts to consider and play around with.

practice disgust.
it will help you keep your dignity and set you on a course that is more motivated.

I admit 50, and only racketball competition to keep you motivated is definitely the pits.

disgust for the wanting of diversions, disgust for the wanting of relationships that are never satisfying. disgust for the knee jerk reactions to what people post.

that will give you some spine.
you should be turned around in no time for the next 50 years.

You know whats funny, I have the opposite problem. I've been called a 'dreamer' in a depreciatory way. People complain that I have my head in the clouds. Having too many dreams and not enough will power or resources to see them fulfilled can also be a devistating hardship. But what the hell, you know, that's life. The greatest consolation that I have (and perhaps you might find solace in this also) is knowing that the most bitter moments of life are often (yes, not always, but often) accompanied by short intervals of sweet bliss-- made sweeter by their contrast to the bitterness. Life moves in waves and cycles; always keep an eye out for the upswing.

If I may add another suggestion,

It is our senses that remind us that we are alive. You could even say that our lives are our senses (you know what I mean). Observe the fact that, if you become conditioned to something, you start to become 'numb' to it, so to speak. If you are over-exposed to stimulous--pain or pleasure-- your senses don't register the same magnitude of 'feeling' that they once did, and you start to 'die' emotionally. So my suggestion is: if you are overexposed to hurt and you are becoming desensitized to life, then do something challenging; something that stretches you; Something that you can put your blood, sweat, and... tears, into. All of the sudden your senses will be revived, and your life will have meaning. Racketball is okay, but if it were me (maybe I shouldn't be giving advice considering I'm a 'dreamer') I would carve my face into the side of a mountain, or build a rocketship and shoot the moon, or do something totally outlandish and rediculous that I and everyone else would marvel at and say, "Damn, I never thought it could feel so good to be alive."

P.S. Action can induce emotion like an electro-magnet induces current.

I would consider this a good thing, as it can be a sign of cultivated mental stillness.
