I fucking love girls. I always get along great with them.

But I'm totally hooked on this one. I love her with all the energy that I have. Its like we've been slowly building up our relationship, and I just want to be with her already.

i knew this girl a while back. i had spent like 2 years talking to her on and off at school. I was always very very attracted to her.
we never really flirted or anything. the whole thing was very strange.
i got to spend an entire summer with her and the attraction between us was absolutely crazy. neither of us ever obviously came onto the other.
one day we were just fucking around and ended up face to face staring at each other. so i kissed her.
it was amazing. we later talked about how much we wanted each other the entire time.
the whole thing was amazing.

enjoy every single second of this. shit don't last forever.

So...what happened? You guys just kissed, and that was that?

Did you guys get it on, fall in love...or did you just eventually forget about it?

we had sex a couple times. it was just as awesome as i had imagined.
I think that we had already been "in love" for some time before ever touching.
it didn't last long. bad timing and shit circumstances. she disappeared a short while after.
she came back around about a year later, all smiles. I didn't act like I was interested.
I never told her how much I liked her.
I still think about her at times.

Hmmm. I see.

You didn't stay in contact with her when she left? If you were in love with her, why did you act uninterested? It sounds like you guys could have had something amazing.

In my case...I have actually made out with this girl on several occasions. Everytime it is simply amazing. But she has serious commitment issues, and shes scared of being in a serious relationship. The one time we almost hooked up, she told me she was worried she would enjoy the sex too much. We live about 3 hours from each other. If we had sex, she would want to do it all the time...so she doesn't want to do anything unless we are close.

yeah, I've loved. several times, and all that it led to was me being the asshole I am today. Nice guys (as has been said and proven many times over) do finish last. so when I was a nice guy I just got fucked over. that lasted till about 21.  Now I'm 26 and I just go out and do whatever I want when it comes to girls. I go to bars and try to pick up hotties. I don't call them, I tell them whatever they need to hear to get them into bed. I'm a total douchebag. When I take them on dates I wine and dine them and wham bam (not even a thank ya) and I'm onto the next one.

Girls are shadier than guys, and want to bitch about how there's no nice guys left.

I typed the following then realized its mainly directed at girls not the OP. OP read it though, because hopefully it'll help you.

Girls, wanna bitch about nice guys not being anywhere to be found. Well sweetheart, I hate to break it to ya. there are nice guys left out there. they're just in 1 of two places:
a) right in front of your nose, that good buddy who would be perfect for you and is such a nice guy but you're too fucking arrogant and into yourself to ever consider him. there's nothing for you to fix, and in your little fucked up world with daddy issues, if there's nothing broken, you're not interested in him. but honey, I hate to break it to ya, that nice guy is the only fix for your daddy issues and all that asshole guy that you date and want to fix is gonna do is hurt you more and make that hole your daddy started that much bigger. its a vicous cycle and the next asshole  is only going to make it worse. and until you realize this and STOP DATING ASSHOLES you're never going to truly be happy, just a little less sad.

b) they're the asshole you're going out to dinner with tonight. the one that shows signs of promise that he needs something fixed, only baby, its a learned behavior. really truly, he's a nice guy, but he's been fucked over so many times because of the girl in my first anecdote that he's now a calloused, jaded asshole (this is the category I fall into), this guy seems like the perfect balance of nice guy and couple little problems here and there so that girl's daddy issues will have something to appease them. so whataya do? date goes good, you take him home, bang him, and he never calls you again. because rather than risk getting attached and actually liking this girl, too many dumb cunts have burned him in the past and now he just loves the thrill of the chase.

Yeah, all of that is true.

I don't consider myself a "nice" guy in the sense that I'm not a push over and I don't act like a dormat. I'm a very genuine person who is honest about my feelings, and I don't really care what other people think when I say shit. I usually just lay it down the way it is.

Hooking up with girls is not really too much of a problem for me, I've had my fair share of flings.

The difference between the nice guy who finishes last, and the nice guy who can still get with a girl is simply a matter of confidence. Its all about making the move, and showing sexual interest. If you just sit there and listen to the girl talk and never assert any of your own interests, you're not going to get the girl. If you ask her out, but don't make any move to show you are sexually attracted to her, you aren't going to get the girl.

There is no reason to become calloused. Just be who you are with confidence, and when you know what you want, go after it with all of your heart.

the cause of my callous is deeper than that.
I never had problems getting the girl
But I had problems getting a good girl.
The girls I dated (and I did date back then, now I just have little flings) always seemed cool at first.
But then it always seemed that they were just two faced lying sluts.
We'd date for a couple weeks, then they would go back to their ex (who, unbeknownst to me was never fully out of the picture, this happened several times).
Or we'd date, and stop dating for them to date douchebags. (I know these guys they dated, this was a small town).
My biggest downfall was that I cared, I actually had an interest in these girls happiness and stuff. I'd actually listen, you know all the things girls say that guys don't do.
But my heart still kept getting stepped on, I still consistently found out the girls I dated lied to me throughout the  time period.
There's a difference between being shy and lacking confidence and being a nice guy who has confidence.
Basically back then, I had a more optimistic outlook on people, I always wanted to believe the best. Now I don't. I just don't care anymore, its not that I think every girl is a lying cheating skank, its just that I no longer care to figure out which ones are and which ones arent.

Been lovesick many times. I think a good way to make sure things last longer, believe it or not, is avoid sex. Everything people described in this thread is simply mother nature's path. Mother nature can be kind, but she wants grand kids NOW. Sex seems like the natural transition after love has gotten strong enough, but it quickly leads to mixed thoughts after the initial hormones where off, and new emotions replace the old. Mother nature knows you now need to spread genes elsewhere. Bonding spirals downward, the only hope to preserve the spark happens less and less. In an effort, a couple more efforts at sex may occur, but they are simply the nail in the coffin as triggers in both partners' minds set off that they need more chances for genetic variety.

This one chick that I refused to have sex with even after the go ahead a few times (well I turned it down gently) stayed so much happier with me the entire time we were together. Even after breaking up and I told her why I always turned it down, she thought it was dumb at first, but wasn't unhappy with me. She and me still had some feelings, but she was at a point in her life to move on, because she knew I was more there to help her get over her past than be her future. The next guy she dated, they did it within 3 dates, seemed like magic and had a lot in common, but within a month hated each other. Nothing else changed, except for fucking like jack rabbits. If they had replaced all the sex with just cuddling and used their sexual tension for better things, they might have made a good couple. They really did have so much in common, but the chemicals in their minds changed their reality, or more so their perception on it.

Sex, well more the neuro chemical cycle linked with orgasm can really turn a perfect match into scum.

Thats a really interesting point....

So this girl that you dated, you did eventually have sex with her right? I wouldn't call it a relationship if there wasn't any sex.

But yeah...in my approach to dealing with this girl that I love so much...honestly I think we have both been subconsciously working with each other. We send messages to each other online and discuss personal and spiritual issues. We have both said that we love each other, and when we are together alone we usually end up touching and kissing. But whenever I've tried to move farther then that, she will turn me away.

One reason is that she had a close friend that she had feelings for, they had sex a few times, and like you said..her emotions changed and she wanted out of the relationship. It pretty much ruined her friendship with this guy.

Now she tells me that she doesn't want the same thing to happen to between us, that I'm too important to her. But when she's drunk she'll say the craziest things like "What should we name our babies." and "You complete my soul." and "You are the yin to my yang."

I just think mentally she is confused in the sense that she probably never thought she would find any kind of a soul mate. She's worried that its only a fleeting feeling, and once we have sex the feeling will vanish.

So maybe you are right. Maybe I shouldn't even worry about the sex. Maybe I should just let the love flow, and let whatever happens happen.

but if she had never pursued those feelings for the guy then she'd be left wondering what if....
yeah, relationships usually ruin friendships.

No I did not, a relationship doesn't need sex. Sex so many times ruins it. Biology takes the course, and both parties wonder what went wrong.

There are more powerful feelings that emerge, that never go away when the right people stay sexually charged and keep the energy balanced enough to not go insane, yet stay euphoric.

Sex hyped in nature and in media, few know these days a relationship without it - except in a negative sense. When both parties feel positive, willingness to connect without it, amazing stuff happens. Well I need to correct myself, the physical connection of sex should exist, but should be near motionless or you simply overstimulate and cause the same problems.

When you are face to face in silence with the one you love, inside of her or in female case letting him inside of you, you create such a bond. One shouldn't let the pleasure end for a few moments of bliss that is the climax.

It may be incredible (similar to shooting heroin in brain scans) to climax, however the fallout is severe, but largely misunderstood.

Maybe it is just me, but I find everything better being pumped up with energy, and creating bonds with people that create feelings 24/7 that are awesome. I've had amazing dreams when I had that much bliss, life is a bit lonelier now trying to find another who searches for the same mindset.

To be fair, the girl I didn't have sex with was not a person that gave the same feelings as described. This other girl was, but had to leave school due to financial reasons sadly. I want to find her again, but she wasn't into email or the internet. The number that used to work doesn't anymore, so I might search this summer...
