Silver. Put half of it into silver bullion or 90% silver coins like mercury dimes right now. Then wait until the market price dips to $16 or below and then get more with the other half. ... That's what I would do.

It looks like the price may be about to make a dive, but it could easily rocket back up to $20/oz. If you look at the 10 year chart you can see how ridiculously unstable the trends have gotten since the economy took a shit.

If you go to your local coin shop and ask for their cheapest silver they will usually have some ugly 10oz bars behind the counter, or some crappy old coins or bullion rounds. Don't get the shiny stuff. Silver is silver and getting it for as cheap as you can is the name of the game.

definitely into apparel. Also soaps, tinctures, essential oils...all easy products to find for cheap, tweak 'em/make 'em and sell on a personal and sometimes internet basis if done right. Also, you better believe i'd start a pretty nifty garden of some sort :wink:

You can find a good source if you use google, use one that takes credit card.  You can either buy 20 grams, dissolve it in alcohol and sell 100 mgs in a vial for 20 bucks, which will turn your investment into $4000 minus the jwh and bottles, or you can turn 20 grams into 40 ozs of spice by mixing jwh with acetone and mixing it with dried plant herbs and sell it for 100 bucks an oz and make $4000.

Silver or gold are both long term investments, I gave you a way to turn 500 bucks into 4 grand, or more depending on prices you charge in a few weeks.  Its really not a hard decision at all...

$500 is not anywhere near enough money to actually be invested in anything.  The best thing you can do with that is save it for the beginnings of an emergency fund and use that fund to self insure.  That will net you the most money.

i already got a kayak...so with that much cash I would probably put it in a bank account and save it, considering im going back to school in the fall....just seems to make more sense to save my money for whats to come rather than spend it on something...even if its permanent like a kayak...


hell maybe we should combine our money and go in on a SUPER BOMB raft???

Agreed, gold is overpriced.  I sold my gold two years ago when it hit close to a thousand.  I have half a mind to sell my silver off too, but for now I am keeping it.

Precious metals arnt an really an investment.  They are a hedge against inflation, and an insurance policy against collapse of the government.  Of course in the latter case having a bunch of gold could very well get you killed if you are not armed and hidden away.

CDs are crap though, they are not worth the trouble.

Create a grow room in your house then buy 1000 san pedro seeds. Sow em and start selling them once they get bigger than lets say your thumb. The bigger they get the bigger the bread.

Im sure you can.  I have made alot of money of off small sums too, by doing exactly what I suggested - self insuring and self warranty.

I'd buy 2-3 oz and knock it out in 1/8ths personally :shrug:.

Pretty hassle free if you're paying cash cause you can sell it as slowly as you like and you'd also make some free smoke.

Keep a half oz, and double your money.. sounds good to me :yesnod:.

I have a decent portfolio and didn't lose too much when the market crashed. I mean I lost out, don't get me wrong, but I only dropped about 15% in value, which wasn't bad.

that being said, $500 isn't much to invest. but if you are looking to really capitalize on it, go for some high risk, high gain stocks.  you might make some money in just a short time. reinvest what you make back into the market, other high risk, high gain stocks.  Once I broke 2k I would start to invest in some more medium risk, medium gain, and low risk low gain farther down the road.  The trick is diversity. don't invest everything in NYSE, or NasDaq, diversify. buy some mutual funds, etc.
