Damn 10 day waiting period for handguns!!!! UPDATE!!!!!!

So it's going to be a long week before I can pick up my new gun.  I just bought this:

It's a Walther P22 .22lr with a 3.5 inch barrel and a ten shot mag. It's my first handgun, though I own several rifles, and I can't wait to take it to the range and put some holes on paper!  Probobly a long shot, but has anyone owned or shot a P22?

The coolest part is the accesories that can be put on it, and if I ever get a class 3 license (and about $1,000 ) I could turn it into this:

But they'd probobly want a better reason I needed a silencer than, "I want to recreate an awesome scene from The Boondock Saints." :smirk:

That looks like a nice pistol. The silencer would be pretty mean, but that mounting rack is way too much.

Are you going for the concealed carry license too?

Sweet .22
You could shoot that for an entire afternoon for pretty cheap. Last time I bought 22's was 50 for a buck. Good luck with your cool down period.

I thought about trying to get the concealed carry license, but I decided I really have no reason to. I don't think I could actully shoot someone, and I'd rather lose some money to a mugger then live with taking a life, know what I mean?

I like .22s because the ammo is so cheap. I have a mini 14 that I don's shoot to often because every time I pull the trigger its 25 cents. .22 is 2 cents a round. I can blast cans all day and not break the bank.

I payed about $260 for the p22, but the P99 (9mm) is about $650.

It's only 3 days here. 0 days if you get your concealed weapon permit, but I'm not falling for that registration scheme.

22's are great for not developing bad habits, and 1.2k rounds for 10 bucks is unparalleled . :thumbup:

Those red-dot holographic sights are friggin amazing! My dad has one on a tricked out Ruger 10-22. Its got all this custom crap that I don't even know anything about. Custom stock, high performance trigger mechanism, some wazoo barrel, and of course the red-dot sight. Its a dream to shoot and about as much fun as you can have with .22 caliber.

BTW, my dad is a huge gun nut. He's not one of those crazys who feels the need to own assult rifles, but he has lots of hunting rifles, shotguns, and quite a collection of handguns. Its been a hobby of his since the mid-70s or so. I can't even begin to count how many rounds of ammo I helped him reload when I was a boy!!
