This is the internet; nothing is necessary, and everything is sufficient.

Well, I have my senses. We all have that. Through them I gain the perception that many people have some sort of spirit, but this cannot be identified in the objective, scientific sense, and in that way, I have no way of telling that humans have a soul

Isn't the mystery of Everything just beautiful!

People can become perfectly happy, by knowing nothing.

Would you rather know nothing and be most happy or seek to know everything and face sadness? :atom:

It's one thing to simply enjoy a style of life that one enjoys, but it's another thing altogether to refer to another person's choice as "wrong" or to rationalize their behavior as being pathological or resulting from some sort of inadequacy or failing so as to create a sense of superiority or separation as yet another projection of a personal fear or control issue.

the former

the latter route seems to lead to suffering for no reason other than the desire to encapsulate relations into symbolic mental structure things
(all of which gets washed away at death)

The former as well.

Regarding the OP, I think that people will resist the idea of calling such things life for awhile, but as the item/being in question becomes increasingly complex and begins to remind us of ourselves, we'll either begin to call these beings alive, or consider ourselves machines. Regardless I'm confident the lines will get increasingly blurry.
