What makes you think that real events sparked the creation of these stories?

Furthermore, in the vast majority of cases most abductees fail lie detector examinations and fail to keep their story straight. I think a lot of people either are delusional or have powerful experiences that they mistake for an alien abduction.

You just made that up.  In the travis walton abduction 4 men took lie detector tests and they all passed except one who was ambiguous (he was also suspected of murdering the missing abductee which explains why it was ambigous)  The abductee Travis Walton has passed 4 lie detector tests.

You need to research more because you don't know much about the phenomena.

That debunk fails, he still passed the tests.  He still disappeared and a whole crew of family and police could not find him and he still had 3 coworker witnesses who testified that he was abducted by a UFO and one of them didn't even like him!

The guy called Dallas was suspected of his murder.  Why would he of not just told theem it was a hoax, I mean hes on a fucking murder charge ?  :rolleyes:

"Flying saucers" were sighted by credible observers long before Hollywood and science fiction writers began to incorporate them into their works. For example, the "Foo Fighters" spotted by numerous pilots during World War II, the famous sightings by respected pilot Kenneth Arnold, etc. If you study the history of the UFO phenomenon and the history of UFOs in pop culture you will see that pop cultural portrayals were directly linked to real life events. If you have a few minutes to invest, skip to the 3 minutes and 30 seconds part of this video segment from the documentary I mentioned^. The second clip contains the rest of the information. It will explain this point of view much thoroughly than I can.

Most alleged alien abductees are frauds but I'm quite certain that a small percentage of these people are true abductees. The reason I know some people are telling the truth is because there's no possible way they could have known what aliens actually look like and that the Greys consist of two varieties(species?) that are working together. I know for a fact that this is true. There are tall ones and short ones like those mentioned in this quote from Wikipedia:

Okay. I'll type you up a brief overview of what happened. I'll send it to you via Private Message. I wasn't abducted but I witnessed a few of them one night back in May. That's when I first discovered that UFOs are extraterrestrial vehicles. I previously thought UFOs were operated by benevolent supernatural beings such as gods. I didn't believe interstellar travel was even possible up until that point.
