Death in life
    #1129715 - 12/10/02 05:06 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

Hello.
Visions plague me. i see things that i do not kno how to intrepret even though i am sure they are of some meaning. these visions arent a by-product of "drugs" because ive had many like them since before my "drug" use. im not wut u wud call a spiritual person per-se but i am very intouch with who am i and what i want. wether or not this is wut is causing the strange visions i do not kno. my visions arent a hallucination more of a daydream but not really. i see myself slender (im not obese but im not slender) with my shirt off, behind me there is a field of white snow with a majestic castle in the background. im wearing a necklace with an upside down hammer (in asatru belief, an idol for the mighty thor [the hammer being mjiollnir] u kno wut i mean Fungor). i hold a bloody axe in my left hand (im right handed) and wear a stern face. i kneel to the ground in anguish (even as i am in this dream like state i feel great dissapointment). i stand and begin to walk dragging my axe with me into the darkness. i wake. anyone have an intrepretation? why do i in this vision see myself in such a gloomy state of mind? i am in no-way an asatruar, so why the idol? i however do share similar beliefs with that of astruars, like death before dishonor, and honoring a pact of brotherhood and that there is a place for those who die with sword in hand, could this be a connexion? one more thing, i have had a reoccuring dream that i die on a frozen plain since i can remember, the town is busy and people are working with wood and leather and iron and i walk among them in a black cloak, happy, then in the blink of an eye every thing is calm and the earth that was once covered in snow and left untouched as if sacred ground, is now iced over, and all the people are gone. i dont try to flee from it but i walk away from it, in my dream i have no home that i know of, and i just walk away but no matter how far i walk it is always there and eventually i die(or wut i think is death) then i wake. over the years as the dream continues to come back its like the dream-me knows wut is goin to happen and it tries at all cost to avoid its demise but its of no use and the same thing happens. lately when the dream happens (rarely anymore) i hold an axe or sometimes a hammer and i no longer run and i jus stand and embrace my death the ice loox red for a minute then i wake. comments? could these be omens?

They're called dreams. I have them too.

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?

If I believed in "past lives" I would say maybe it's a past life experience being shown to you by your Oversoul because it is teaching you things you need to remember in order to grow in this life.... But I'm not sure I do.

im going to go with what adamist said. maybe its so you dont repeat past mistakes, maybe in that vision he realized what a disapointment his life of bloodshed was and that there was nothing he could do to rectify it and it disapointed him or you so much he vowed to remember it when he or you came to life again so you wouldnt make the same mistake and uphold your true beliefs other than what you supposedly fought for or fought wrongly for. i have visions all the times too, vast cities surrounded by pure green fields, homes built to the best architectural design, me sitting on fields, colors and feelings that go beyond anything here on earth. these moments neither exist when im awake or asleep but are engrained within me and i cant begin to decipher them, sometimes i think its where my home is or where i should be.

Apparently you are very familiar with this folklore and the axe fellow. I think you are interpreting real life anxiety through imagery that you are familiar with. If you were into Japanese culture, you'd imagine yourself as a lone ninja, dragging his katana through the grass as all the little Japanese people in the village disappear.

i know nothing of the folklore i just know use my knowledge of various things to build up a certain conclusion... im not an expert or anything by no means. but i do know a lot about dreams and have had lots of images myself and interpreted many things for myself... but thats interesting. whats the vision of a lone ninja walking through the grass draggin the katana supposed to mean?

I was actually responding to Vision. But yah, I was using the ninja as an example to be analogous to his axe weilding 'vision self'.

I sometimes see smoke, like smoke from smoking. While nobody is smoking. But it disappears when i focus on it.

It scares the shit out of me because, most of the time my brain response is: FIRE!

But its not, it started after i used mushrooms for the first time...

yea i was thinkin of wut u sed bert, but how is the scenery and the mood so similar to my reoccuring actual dream that ive had since i was about 5 or 6? i think that rather than be dissapointed because of my decision im dissapointed becuz i didnt die as well as everyone else, its like dishonor, thats just the mood i feel from it tho. thank u everyone fer u interpretations , keep em coming.

Oh, I think I got your 'daytime vision' and dream mixed up. Hmm...Who do you think the people in the village could represent in your real life? Friends, family members? Maybe you are having anxiety over losing one of those, thus the dreams. I dunno, I'm not a psychologist yet. Good luck.

Don't worry about meaning. Get lucid. Write down every single object (including sounds) appearing in the dream, then make a reality check whenever you perceive one of those objects in waking life.

Once you are lucid, you can make the people reappear and ask them what it all means.

I was trying to get lucid dreams for awhile. I experimented with valerian root, melatonin, b-6 I think, and deliberately messing up my sleep cycle. I think I may have noticed a subtle difference in dream quality, but not quite lucid. Keeping a dream log by your bed helps a lot. Just write in it every morning when you wake up.
