Recently i had a very terrifying level 5 journey that landed me into a mental hospital thats a whole other story but my question is this; before things got really bad i had many visions alot of ancient looking egyption hyro's on my wall then a tunnel like structure opened up a transparent figure came up to me and pointed to the right side of my wall where there was a picture of the girl i had dated for 4 years and just broke up with, could this vision mean i should stay with her or just some crazy hallucination???I know it sounds crazy but its all true!!! any insights are much appreciated.

Well you also have to remember that these visuals are comming from your mind...sometimes you see things that you want to see. As for the egyptian hyro...man I have seen those before...wow what unbelievable beauty! As far as the figure pointing at a pic that is hard to say...Noone can tell you if it was a figment of your imagination or not. If you are meant to be with her, then it will all fall back together. Just don't beleive in this visual till it drives you crazy ok. take care. Most of the activities described above are dangerous and/or illegal and none are recommended. maybe it is you wanting to get back together with her somehow or another...

Visions mean different things to different people. It's your own interpretation of the vision that matters. Phil

Sorry to hear about your hospitalization. The attending psychiatrist probably noted 'Hallucinogen Induced Psychotic Disorder,' on your chart, but [s]he probably didn't stop to discuss your experience with you. You had psychodynamic levels of experience (your social-sexual relationship with your girlfriend) occurring along with some deeper archetypal material (the hieroglyphics). There was a confusion of levels which resulted in a psychic overload, loss of control and your subsequent hospitalization. The level 1-5 taxonomy is very basic, and really should not be applied here. Stan Grof's work is far more precise, as was John Lilly's and Houston & Master's before Grof. If you would like to confidentially discuss more of your abreaction (bad trip) with a licensed psychotherapist, feel free to e mail me. Peace be with you.

Before I can help , I need to know some things. When you say another story, do you mean different time and day? Before things got "bad" do you mean while you were going up? Many people have "visions" and seem also to believe that's what they are. In a sense they are. However so much of Western people is a lop-sided conglomeration wich fails to account for some rather peculiar events. Many will in fact say "it was the drugs". Very simplistic, cut and dried seems to be the explanation for many occurances when a thee year old will tell you there are some other facets needing exploration. Think about what happened. You may be a seer or you just need some proper guidance.

dreams also hold meaning too... both come from your own brain (partly)...

its up to you to interpret your visions. id like to just make a point not to take visions at face value and be very flexible in your analysis. dont fall into the trap of dogma. sometimes the true meaning of a vision doesnt become clear for many years. take it easy on the big doses, they can bite you on the arse.
