I have serious anger problems.

I literally lose control of my anger so much, my psychiatrist recommends marijuana over xanax and the like due to the fact I'm more functional on it.


Give me any benzo and I'm a waste of space.

I can smoke a joint to prevent too much stress turning into anger.


I'm also addicted to it, so I smoke it when I shouldnt.

Marijuana is not an escapist drug IMO.  Ive smoked weed for 11 years everyday minus a few days here and there when it was dry or I couldnt afford it.  Maybe in the early years of smoking it works to escape problems but once you've smoked long enough weed will bring whatever your trying to escape from to the surface and you will dwell on it even more than when sober IME.  So OP fuck off and don't run your mouth when you have no idea what your talking about.

OP's horse is higher than anyone in here.

Weed is not a tool for escape. Sobriety is easy for someone that smokes. The marijuana user can easily stop smoking and get their shit together. Most other drugs do not offer such an easy chance at walking away. Not even alcohol.

Giving up weed is no different than having to give up watching TV. It sure is nice to have but just but nobody is breaking a sweat giving it up. They are both benign, mind-numbing activities that pass the time.

I don't know about the addiction thing. I think it is a myth. There is no withdraw and if you can't go without weed, you probably had underlying problems that would have spiraled much deeper if self-medicating with another substance.

Shame on the OP for hating on pleasure aspect of it. There should be no guilt in enjoying some tunes or an orgasm while high. It sorta reeks of cop anyway. Pot doesn't "denegrate" mental capacity; that sounds like something out of a DARE handbook. There is no support for such a claim in academia, the medical community, or among anyone that is smart enough to recognize the scent of bullshit. Pot isn't very good for hiding insecurities either.It makes many people anxious and paranoid. How is that even close to legal highs like "liquid courage" that get passed around to shy people at bars and clubs?

I find it's really good for taking my mind off things, and I get it just helps me procrastinate.  I wish I didn't smoke it as much but enjoy it enough to have a session every night.

I smoke it out of boredom mostly. If Im constantly doing other things I really dont smoke as much.

Some people watch tv, go on a walk, meditate, eat, huff paint or play video games. I smoke pot.

It does not incapacitate me, it is merely a routine incorporated into my day like your cup of coffee or cigarette. Most people dont notice whether Im high or not(to my knowledge).

I dont however think it's the "life I choose to live" or "Ill be doing it when Im 60". It is just one more vice that I will give up when Im ready.(as Ive already done with liquor, cigarettes, meat, cocaine, coffee, etc)

I have RLS and have tried all the drugs to help  w/nothing but horrible side effects. If i dont smoke before i goto bed it will take me over 2 hours to fall asleep, then ill get waken up w/ some bad pain in my legs like they just want to run and work out, so ill have to go for a walk then try to sall asleep again.  Doesnt happen when i smoke:super:

Hey I enjoy it as much as the next guy and I'm a daily stoner, BUT I know for a fact that while yes, it can be considered therapeutic and I use it to relax, I think health-promoting qualities is a bit too much.
