clutch is pretty broad but a different style so i cant compare them.

Amorphis are alright but they don't pack enough punch for me.  I used to be into all that folk-ish metal like Agalloch, Amorphis and shit.

Agalloch was one of the best things I've ever seen live. Goosebump all the time (in a positive way :wink:)

Agalloch is fucking awesome.

I don't necessarily like folk metal, I just love Amorphis and Agalloch.

I wish more metal could be like this though, honestly. I have searched far and wide through all genre's of metal, and by far, Opeth has stood out the most.

Agalloch is far more than the typical Folk Metal. It's more like doom/black metal with a folk (& these days postrock) edge on it. All those bands like Ensiferum and Korpiklaani which seem to be popular these days are not my cup of tea at all.

I've gotten picky when it comes to metal anyway. I love variety and listen to a broad range of music. On the other hand that's somewhat like a handicap too as I can't delve that deep in many genres and therefore sometimes miss some nice raw gems.

Listen to early Satyricon, if you like that kind of stuff, check out their first 3 albums.  It's really heavy as well as being really atmospheric.

Haha, I already know Satyricon (not really that strange due to it's big name). Some tracks on those albums are pretty enjoyable but I can't say I find the albums to be extremely solid.
