Waking up too early
    #10486823 -

Hi so I've always woken up pretty early my whole life.  I was never able to sleep in till noon or anything like that except for very occasionally.

Anyways, I'm not usually able to get more than 6 hours of sleep at night, sometimes if I go to bed too late, I'll only get like 4 or 5 hours.  It seems like I'm always waking up around 7:00 a.m. no matter when I go to sleep.  I wake up and just have an intense amount of energy and I feel like I need to get up and start doing something or walking around, but at the same time I still feel really groggy.  It kind of sucks.

I don't have any problem falling asleep, though.

Any natural remedy solutions for how to sleep in later?

I almost wish I had your problem, sometimes I will sleep for longer than 12 hours if I don't have an alarm - and I get good sleep.

If you workout or exercise in the morning, you get rid of some of that loose energy in the morning and sleep better at night. Not sure if its something you already do or would want to commit to.

Melatonin supplements help me sleep deeper and overall better too. Its not exactly natural (its synthetic usually) but it doesn't have any symptoms that I know of and is produced in our own brains. I had some crazy vivid dreams on the the stuff too.

sunlight is a huge trigger for wake time
darkness is a trigger for sleep

No such thing as waking up "too early"! You probably just don't need as much sleep as other people. It's not that unusual. Do you eat a vegetarian diet by any chance? Vegetarians sleep less. In any case, try eating milk and cereal or a peanut butter sandwich before bed. They should help you sleep.

Btw, waking up at the same time every day is good. You should feel lucky to have that nice of a sleep cycle. Just go to bed whenever you feel tired at night and wake up at the usual time. If your body needs more sleep you will get tired earlier, simple as that.
