I just woke up from sleeping for 14 hours.
I'm super-depressed lately, and thats my coping mechanism.

i'm sleeping a ton until i start working and attending very early morning yoga.
it will be fun, but also a drastic change from my 10-14 hour daily sleeps.

I've been having that problem lately. For a while it was due to depression. But now I think it's just it's too damn hot to do anything.

you should eat raw food. fruit, sprouted seeds. it may sound gross and there is a time where you will miss the foods you are addicted to but you will learn to like this food even more, and its much better. you will sleep better and have more energy and just overall have a healthier body and mind
www.sproutpeople.com
www.rawfoods.com
"A living food diet leads to a longer, more energetic life. Think of how you feel after a Thanksgiving feast. The burden of digesting a cooked food meal drains our energy. This does not happen with living foods and the extra energy allows the body to focus its resources on cleansing and rebuilding. Less sleep is needed and it is more restful"
if you picture in your mind "cooking" you are burning food but if you eat it before cooking, the energy that would have been cooked is "burned" in your body and gives you energy rather than burning in the pot/pan/microwave this can really help.
and oh yeah you should buy Be Here Now and use the hatha yoga postures in the back. Yogi's, mostly in India can live with no sleep at all
and those sites are selling expensive kits, all you need is a jar or some clean sterile cloth... the expensive sprout kits are waste of money.
this is a good article http://www.rawfoods.com/articles/livingfoods.html
"Live food eaters feel better and are often in a state of euphoria." !!!!!!!

if you want to cook, take dry grains like rice lentils any seed and grind it up then add a little water or oil or whatever you want to eat it with, then heat it just a little to the temperature you want to eat it at. you can use a mortar and pestle or buy the more expensive flour at healthfood stores but you wont find lentil flour and the like. at the very least soak seeds before cooking so you dont have to cook them as long

Ive been having toi much sleep. For the first time in ages yesterday night i forced myself to go to bed at midnight. Woke at 8am, feeling fresh as a daisy. Not something i can do if i go to sleep at 4am for example, end up sleeping till 3pm and all that. Sleep pattern is hard to sort out but looks like it makes the world of difference. I've had the touch of depression also, bit of a cycle though if its sleep sleep sleep. Early days but i think i'll be happier if i stick to these new, developing habits.

95% of the time I wake up feeling awful. Groggy, exhausted, all that.
I mean, I only have one meal a day, and even that isn't certain. My diet is so fucked up.
Sigh.

How old are you? I think people tend to starve themselves of proper sleep in their youth. When I was younger, I could easily sleep 10 to 12 hours a day. As I have aged, the sleep I need each night has decreased a lot.

I'm in the same boat, I need at least 10 hours or I wake up feeling like shit. I also have a problem with excessive dreaming (anywhere from 3-6 dreams per night) and I wake up after each one for some reason. They are incredibly vivid and fun (most of the time) but it has really been taking its toll on me. Since my sleep is less than sound I need those extra couple hours each night...

Fuck man I have intensely vivid dreams every night just like you. I usually wake up after to.
In the morning I'll pound on the sleep button for like two hours just to stay in the dream sometime.

i generally can't stay in the dream once something wakes me up
something as simple as a sprinkler outside, right in the middle of dreaming and i'm awake and i can't go back unless i go to sleep for 3 more hours til i finally dream again and then that just completely drains me.
then of course there are the super deep dreams where you can't wake up even if you want to.
it kind of blows my mind that you can be in another reality, a simple tiny sound will bring you out of it, and you can't go back. how can you be in two places at once, be so easily snapped out, and not be able to easily go back?
it's really amazing and confusing.

It weird as soon as I hit the sleep button I'm right back in it. Last night I had a dream where I started to get lucid then lost it and was in it for what must have been 2 hours.

Same here. Its usually during those last few hours that I have the most vivid and bizarre dreams. Sometimes I feel like I don't sleep because I go from my waking life directly into a frenzied dreamworld. Leaves me feeling exhausted in the morning but when I read through my dream journal it seems worth it.

If you follow the same path I did, in about ten years you will be sleeping six to seven hours a night. At your age, I was sleeping around nine to ten hours a night.

i guess it depends on if you were sleep deprived or not when the alarm woke you up.
if i'm sleep deprived sometimes i can i think.
i dreamed of watching a disney commercial where tinkerbell was some fat bottmed slut dancing provocatively to suggestive sounds..... it made me disgruntled against disney interesting that when i changed the dream channel it carried on where it left off, but yet in different ways.
in fact i got some good insights on tv.... i lived out the plot of a show about some guy that deliberately does bad things to people but the tv show made it entertaining to watch and all the while i was sitting there thinking "this isn't good to be seeing is it?" but I kept doing it anyway, so then i was him in the show.
put a laugh track in and change the music and anything is acceptable.
it was a very fun show though, so maybe my stance was wrong.. i'm not sure.
