THAT is one reason why I don't eat meat UNLESS I have seen where abd how the animals are raised or if I raise and slaughter the animals myself.

The other reason I don't eat industrially produced meat is the adverse effects the industry has on the environment.

On this, I agree with you. Any food that has been processed in almost any way isn't as healthy as naturally raised. You can purchase free range fowl, or organically raised beef at many grocery stores these days. Its kinda spendy though.

actually were not really supposed to eat Cows, because the meat in the cows is stronger than our stomach can digest. i would limit this belief to certain races, people who have lived for many years eating cows. Salmon is by far the most healthy type of meat we humans can eat, it contains the Omega oils which are essential to us. Salmon keeps our skin from deteriorating, has amino acids, certain fats. It is like SUPREME "meat". Some people who have bad stomach problems and get acid in their throat and what not can be a sign that they need to eat more meat. It has somethign to do with the stomachs ability and need to digest certain foods. Like in me for example if i dont eat protein i will go crazy. I really cant handle not eating, i start losing my ability to control my temper and sustain anything. and i think by our desire to eat, channeling this desire we build upon our dna making sure its viable and ready to keep reproducing the chemicals we need to survive. If we dont obtain the chemicals we need the chains will break and we will get things like cancer or ulsers or all kinds of shit. If we open ourselves to it we can control our destiny so to speak, listen to that voice inside you, your cravings, not your indulgences. Follow your nose to the right smells, this is what i have done... I cant gain weight though. but i guess this isnt a bad thing. Your brain maufactures the chemicals it needs to carry out tasks and to solve problems, it cant do this if you dont eat right. and maybe if you eat in a unique way you might change your brain your body your dna.

o and on the subject of obtaining the food and feeling bad or what not. all the laws of kosher? the egyptians would honor the gods by giving offerings, there reverence to dead. They would make sure all the blood was drained out, it was believed that the blood was the life force of the animal if it could go into the ground it would be inserted back into the universe. Leaving it in the animal would be obviously wrong. And humans (not now or currently) provide a stabilization to the food chain. Imagine herds of cows trampeling over an ecosystem depleting it killing the life un necessarily, so now the humans need meat and to save there land while also protecting other species. they hunt and obtain what they need while helping ensure the balance of the ecosystem. I know it might seem like i contradicted myself but i just used that as an example. It doesnt work that way in todays world, todays world is really fucked up. but i think we all have the right idea in mind, but take the common citizen/ proliterian they dont think about how much they eat or its effect on the greater realm of things.

Hullo Buzz! ...Refering to:
"the fact that our bodies were built to eat meat."
One thing I wish to mention about this, is that natural doesnt always mean "good"...human beings are the perfect, and possibly only, example that I can think of, however.
The eternal wars, recreational massive destructions of habitats, ecospheres and probable all-out elimination of the biospere...these seem to be results of humans acting naturally. Maybe gnawing flesh got us this far, however as L.O.E. (poster) and others are tuning/tuned into; much of our efforts must now be filled with moral intent having little to do with natural desire and bio staus-quo.

I think LoverofEarth was arguing more about humaneness than health (or I could be wrong). Organic food has yet to be proven healthier. It's very popular among people who believe in alternative medicines, and who don't trust medical doctors much. But I just looked at many websites, and all of them pretty much said that in spite of a great deal of research, organic food has yet to be proven healthier. Here's one article, for example from a reputable source (BBC News):

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/906530.stm

I realize that just becuase something's on the web doesn' t make it true, but there were several similar conclusions on other websites as well. Here's a link to a bunch of different articles on the subject:

http://www.organicts.com/organic_info/articles/health.shtml

Some of the links on this site say orgainic is better some say organic is actually worse, most say the difference is too small to tell.
