Well today is day 5, and I feel my desire to eat getting less and less apparent, but the notion is still there. I went to the mall today to get a haircut and could smell all the food strongly. It seemed appealing.
What seems very unappealing to me however, is overeating, or eating without balance. It seems to me that eating to the point of sluggishness and just general unhealth and unbalance is something I will try my best to avoid in the future.
2 more days. I find myself excited to eat again, but also not in too big of a rush. I feel like I've learned a good deal about my eating habbits and routines, like when I go upstairs I automatically go to the fridge. Now I just close it and walk away haha. I had never noticed this before.
I don't really feel any more clarity of thought, euphoria or energy boost. Everything feels quite normal. I also havnt felt any signs of detoxification.
I do feel like I spend more time just thinking and being and slowing down.
Interesting experience, and still 2 days for more interesting things to come about.

prayer is something to say and somebody to say it to...
if you got nothing to say
you aren't praying...
it's a war
fasting shows you how to survive

So you decided to take it back up, for another one, this time quit being a wimp, none of that wheat grass crap, just cold water, no food, like the champions do it.

its ruff the first few days, I dug up this old thread to help me do it again... I kept a log of the June fast and with the messages I posted to the shroomery I hope to improve upon my mistakes. As some of you have observed I'm not the mahatma gandhi of fasting.
I am on day 3 of my juice fast. In June I made it to day 15 before I had to have a can of sardines.... The rules to the game are you can drink any fruit or vegetable as long as it can be juiced...no solids. That includes Shiraz grapes and coffee. The only 3 in the category that I know of that can't be juiced are bananas, avocados, and shrooms. My goal is 20 days, we'll see!!!~
Normally I don't eat carbs, which is too say fast foods or/ somebody's idea of home cooking, But after being away from home for 2 months I need to clean out my system.

going thru the ancient treads I like this one...it says it all
Fasting is more for the purpose of cleansing toxins from the body internally. And for this purpose I would recommend eating nothing but raw, ripe.. fruit and fruit juices and herbs for a week, instead of not eating. Instead of starving yourself, eat as much fruit as you like.. acidic ones like oranges, apples, grapes, lemons, grapefruit.. currants, berries, bananas, mangoes.. whatever is good. The different acids in the fruits will give your body the cleansing.. while providing you with most of the vitamins, fiber, and water that your body needs. Without fiber the colon can atrophy from lack of bulk. Go on a fruit and water diet for a week.. you will be eliminating all kinds of crap from your system. From there you can ease yourself onto "fuller" but easily digested grains and vegetables like sweet potato, tomato, leeks, spinach, and hot cereals and so on, so as not to wreak havoc on your digestive tract.
For herbs I would start with goldenseal daily, as a general detoxifier and blood purifier/anti-bacterial/immune system booster. From there you can go into any number of directions, and I suggest you research all the herbs yourself. But I would recommend cayenne pepper to go with goldenseal.. they are a very potent combination. You would also benefit by drinking herbal teas during your "fast" or cleansing diet with the likes of peppermint, lemongrass, chamomile, ginseng, gingko biloba, etc... I would also recommend alfalfa as a 'supporter' herb as it is LOADED with vitamins, minerals, essential acids, flavonoids, fiber, and so on that your body needs. It is one of the most nutritious foods known to man, second only to hemp.
So basically if you are going to try this diet.. eat tons of raw, fresh, ripe fruit. 5 or 6 times a day. Don't mix more than 2 or 3 different kinds of fruit in one meal as the different acids can react with each other and create unpleasantness in your stomach. Like for example for breakfast I would eat acidic fruits... 3 or 4 oranges, grapefruit, maybe a lemon or cantaloupe. For lunch maybe a bunch of strawberries, grapes, watermelon.. etc. And drinking tons of water in between meals. Basically just eat whenever you are hungry.. don't sweeten fruit with sugar.. if you must... use honey or malt sugar.
The idea is not to starve your body. It is to give it what it needs to function while at the same time giving yourself a healthy "cleansing" diet, that will quite literally purge the toxins from your system. You will feel like a million bucks. Just have to watch your diet afterwards.. as greasy, processed, fried foods etc can really hurt after cleansing your system out.

well yesterday was a real disaster...normally I don't fuck up this bad.
Rule #1 if you are on a water or juice fast don't put yourself in a situation you can't handle
ie had green juice in the morning and went to an event that lasted too long w/ no plan b. plan b might be a banana and some water
they served pork ribs smoked overnight
back to day 1

That is interesting. I am planning a smoked pork rib fast.

In about a month I may do another 7 day fast. If it is going well maybe I will even extend it to 10 or 14, who knows.
