natty dreds.  only get braids if your hair is really thick.  its lame if the scalp is visible.

I had 4 dreads in my hair for like 5 months.  They're more of a pain in the ass than anything, an people will almost always think they're stinky.

I cut them out today, its better to just have long free flowing hair.  Thats just me though, some people can pull it off.

I've had long hair for about 6 years and said that I would never cut it.
7 years ago I shaved my head and have kept it that way since. Low maintenance hygiene FTW :thumbup:

Dreadlocks require a ridiculous amount of maintenance, more so than any other hair style I've ever had. I haven't washed my hair in about a year and for the 50th fucking time they don't stink, they just smell like hair :crankey:.

If you can be fucked with it .. go for it.

But really, I don't give a fuck :grin:.

yea i have about just under shoulder length hair, barely too short for a ponytail, and i'v just started surfing. let me tell you, long hair in the water is a major hassle. iv been considering dreadlocks and shaving, but i figure i might as well try dreads and then if i dont like them i can just shave anyway.:shrug:

and if you keep your dreads well maintained they dont get all stanky, or so i've heard

I'd have to see what you look like to give a good answer.  Dreads work for some people, but they look totally lame on others.

Actually, shaved heads are pretty much universal, and look good on skinny people. I'm 5'10" at 140 pounds, and I think I look skinnier with hair, this is one of the reasons I keep my head shaved.
