Mold ???

Hello. I recently acquired a couple eighths of shroomies from a friend of a friend. I enjoyed an extremely visual trip splitting one of the eighths with my brother last week. My problem is with the second bag. On one of the caps and a couple of the stems, there are areas of what appears to be dark green mold. Are these now unsafe to eat? What if I just cut out the visible areas, then would they be safe? I'd hate to throw these strong little guys away but the last thing I want to do is eat something that's gonna kill me. Please help!

Here are some pictures of the mold I'm asking about..  The second picture has arrows pointing to the most notable spots.  The third is a close-up of the largest area I found.  Eat 'em?  Trim 'em then eat 'em?  Or should I just toss 'em?

Can anyone help me out here? I'm considering just chopping out the moldy parts and eating what's left... It'd be great to grub 'em tonight or tomorrow. Anyone?

Looks like it could just be heavy bluing to me. Turns dark when dried. Could have been mishandled when picked.

Thanks for the replies...

I don't know though. The spots seem to have spread, and I don't think that that would be the case with bruising. There is definitely green to those spots, it's hard to see on the pictures I guess. I contacted the guy I got them from to warn him about any others he may have had that were like that. Any more advice appreciated..

Is the fruit 100% dry? Does it snap like a cracker? If so, it is very unlikely that it is mold if it is spreading. Take a damp paper towel and lightly wipe at the suspect spot. Does the color wipe off onto the towel? If so, then it is probably mold. If not, then probably blueing. As worried as you are, the trip will probably be unpleasant even if the fruit is fine. If you have agar, you could always culture the suspect spots and see if anything grows.

my casing has that same green shit on it. would that be contams? its in a few spots, i trashed a clump of it, but it slowly comes back.

The fruit is pretty dry. I tried the paper towel technique and a bit of color smudged onto the paper towel. To be safe I'm just gonna toss them. It's just not worth what could happen with 'em. Better safe than sorry. Thanks for all the advice everyone!

no, no, no dont throwem out extract the goodies using p-fs method, the alcohol will kill the mold, and you will get to trip.

Will the alcohol kill any toxins that might have been released by the molds/bacteria while they were alive?
