My drug story.

Drugs do and will create new thought, realizations, illusions, hallucinations, and many other things. I was always a thinker way before the use of drugs, and the use of marijuana brought new light to my mind. Only if i had used them to find where i wanted to head in my life and then stopped. But i didn't and all it did was make me confused. Left me with no direction. Even though i went over the edge, I can stand here today and not use them for many reasons. I am for good health now, hopefully i didn't do any permanent physical damage to my body.

I just wanted to know if any of you have held the same situation. What was some of the reasons you first tried a drug? Was it because your friends were doing it? For most of us we had no idea what it was and were un-informed. Well I am sure we were all informed a little bit from drug propoganda. I hope when the time is right i can talk to my kids about drugs, when i have them, and hopefully give them good information so they can make positive choices about drug use.

I find that sobriety is equally likely to do is. Sobriety's delusions are just more consistant.

I was already a experienced cough syrup abuser when I first got stoned. Poor weed never had a chance. =)

Only a viable plan if your sober neurochemistry can support it. Mine can't, and starts breaking down when I don't get my medicine. "I" is just a label used to section off a group of trustworthy perceptions of one other person from other less detailed ones percieved through that person.

What's this nonsense about "direction"? What are people who's lives are full of 'goals' running from?

You still feel their effects, right?

Not all drugs harm one.

I read about DXM on Erowid. I was in Wal-Mart a while later, saw the pharmacy section, and thought "why not?".

I had no friends and still don't.

"Un-informed"? There's no absolute Truth to anything. It's all just patterns.

Erowid isn't that hard to find. Of course, you're all probably as afraid of computers as I am of telephones.

"If", not "when". Heroin is likely a far better long-term investement than children are. Society just doesn't like it as much.

There is a point where swimming upstream ceases to become worth the effort and one gets out of the river and puts one's clothes back on.

Un-informed as in i had no idea what i was getting myself into, had no previous knowledge of it. I had no computer when i first started doing drugs. But eventually i found erowid and i found this place. Which led me into more mind altering substances.

So what.. You were going for a cheap thrill off of that DXM?

Heroin? No friends?... ... o.0

Sobriety's delusions are just more consistant.

Consistant yes, but to a greater degree more factual. What drugs have done for me at least is make me question all my sober thoughts and beliefs. Not disregard them, but notice that not everything I knew about the world was real.

My experience is that drugs slowed down my conscious thinking and some of my unconscious insights came into consciousness after the high wore off. The insights were there all the time but my conscious mind couldn't hear them because I was too preoccupied with my own thinking about my thinking.

The process of use was like meditation....stilling the conscious mind.

Then repeated drug use started to slow my mind down and I just found it hard to concentrate or focus.
