Fatness
    #9760190 -

What's your opinion on it?  When you see a porker what do you think?

It's a very serious disease! It should be treated as such.
Screw fat people! Quit eating all the foods, peoples are starving elsewhere.

I try not to pass judgment.

Some people are raised irresponsibly. Parents stuff their kids full of McDonald's and instill poor eating/exercise habits. As those children become adolescents/adults, the responsibility for their weight passes to them. But it's often a long uphill climb.

And some fat people are just plain lazy, apathetic, and unmotivated. But I can't glean a life story from a single glance, so I leave it at that: they're fat; I'm not. It doesn't bother me much.

I think "overweight" women are sexy as all hell.

I hate how people talk about fatness as though it's an epidemic that needs to be exterminated. My penis would wither up and die if everybody in the world was skinny.

Some people are fat because they eat McDonald's and other people are fat because they're just fat.

This isn't true.

The ability to be grossly overweight is a relatively recently-developed evolutionary niche.

True enough, we live in a world where you don't need to break your back in the field or hunt down animals to eat. But it's a mistaken assumption that being overweight is unhealthy in itself.

McDonald's and saturated fats and high fructose corn syrup are what's bad for you, whether or not you get fat on them.

i try not to pass judgement, but i don't date obese girls.

i was the lucky one in my family: out of three children, i am the only skinny one. 5'8 140lbs, i could actually do with a little bulking up. my brother and sister are both fat though. they had to live most of their childhood without a father, while i at least had both parents until i was 12. i learned the fundamentals of eating healthy and exersising while i was young, but they really missed out on it. genetics does have a lot to do with it too. they tend to look a lot more like my dad, while i take more from my mother, who is the skinnier of the two.

i guess what i'm trying to say is that you can't always judge people based on body weight. like other people have said, there is often a story behind the person, and it's not completely their fault.

change is not impossible though. a lot of adults simply lack the willpower, which i do not respect at all.

Obesity is certainly not healthy, and I think that is what is implied by 'fat' here.  Junk in the trunk is sexy and healthy of course.

How is obesity defined? When does chubby become fat?

Obesity is like pornography.

I can't explain it, but I know it when I see it.

Obesity = BMI > 30

That's pretty damn large.

saturated fats aren't really bad, its when they are eaten with high processed diet that it is bad.  Also most people get their saturated fats from toxic meat, rather than proper grass fed meats, or things like coconut oil.

As for fatness, vast majority of people close to 95% I'd say do not know how to actually eat well, and included in those a lot who thing they are eating healthy are just being scammed (becel, vegetable oils, low carb diets etc etc).

I don't find a little fat a turn off, but it starts to get disgusting fast.  Seriously, its not that hard to eat your fruits and veggies.

Yeah it is. :puke:

My main point is basically what you said, that our diets are really fucked-up these days. Health problems that are usually associated with obesity are not actually caused by obesity but by certain kinds of diets.

I mean, I don't usually judge a fat person as far as I see a larger person on the street and immediately think "EW FATTY!", but I definitely would not be attracted to a person who was fat.

I used to be a little pudgy when I was younger, and have taken some serious steps to insure that I am in shape now.

There is no excuse for being fat, unless you have a medical condition.
