lol, i actually do run a very small local organization called hippies against pot.

we go to festivals and stuff in the area and encourage people not to smoke. I actually saw some shroomerites (vandago and i forget the other one) at our festival booth this summer.

mainly because its a coping mechanism for real anxieties and fears.  Getting high treats the symptoms but if you can't be perfectly happy sober you should probably face the fact that you have problems.

i don't know there is alot of reasons why we do it.  Its a bad way to socialize, it really warps the mind over time.

we have about 55 members and all of them say they're much happier once they quit smoking pot and figured out what was causing them to do it in the first place.

BTW, we're not against people smoking like once a month for pleasure, its the people who smoke every weekend or even every day that need help.

H.A.P Helps people every day.

No more stay at home 27 year old kids.  No more endless rants about nothing to people who don't matter anyways.  Less toxic smoke into the airs as well ( not too mention I personally think a pot plant should flower, not be smoked ).

I'd rather see people working to turn pot into something useful......like fuel.....instead of it being the opposite.

hippies against pot sounds interesting.  It is a thought that is on my mind a lot, if I should quit. I am thinking of starting to smoke once a week once my college semester starts.

i can agree with you to a degree, but honestly, i realized my problems and marijuana actually helped me get over them.  i am not trying to say your wrong or anything at all, but i know that if i hadn't have ever smoked marijuana i would have never learned how to deal with my social anxiety (i know, it sounds weird, but pot has different effects on everyone).  for some reason when i would smoke, i could go out in public, talk to randoms (maybe at a party/social event, i wasn't a drinker at the time) and just socialize and ignore my thoughts of "is he laughing at me" and "are those people talking about me" that had kept me from doing anything social until i was a senior in high school.  i am still an everyday marijuana smoker, pretty good chance i always will, but i don't think i am the typical smoker.  i can get high and find things to do, go out and socialize, or i can veg out in front of the computer.

and no offense by this at all, you should be talking to more people about drinking than marijuana smoking, more harm comes from alcohol than weed.  people can drink their emotions away, you have to confront your emotions high.

Smokey I agree with you about alcohol. I have said the same thing to my friends, that when you are high, if you are depressed you're depression can come to you through the high. Weed enhances how you already feel.  I also think weed has taught me a lot about emotions and how to think and deal with them.  But I will say that when I am completely sober, I have more control over my emotions and how I act.

yeah honestly smokey i think alcohol is way worse than pot.  There aren't alot of people saying you shouldn't smoke weed though except complete asshole government types so we're just looking to give people support from a chill source.

I doubt any anti drug campaigns are gonna take notice of this thread because if they did, then that would mean they are open to our ideas and they would realize how ridiculous they are. But you do have a point
