Yes if you're high you would probably score lower on an IQ test, but saying that there is no long-term effect on global intelligence (aka IQ) means that once you aren't high, even if you got high everyday for years, your sober IQ would be the same as it was before you ever started smoking.

The only real dangers of cannabis are that they can potentiate mental illness (i.e. someone who would've eventually developed schizophrenia will possibly develop it earlier if they smoke cannabis). The only reason many think cannabis makes people dumb losers is because cannabis attracts these type of people to begin with, as it makes doing nothing fun.  Therefore, if you are a "loser" to begin with cannabis might appeal to you as it will make doing nothing more fun. Having said that, many intelligent (and not loser-ish) people are also attracted to cannabis for different reasons (allowing one's thoughts to flow more freely etc.)

Having taken many neuropharmacology classes for my major (Neuroscience) everything I have learned points to the fact that cannabis harms the brain far less than any other illegal drug (or alcohol for that matter).  Even professors who could have their jobs put on the line for saying such a statement have freely said in classes of mine that Marijuana is a fairly harmless drug for mentally stable people.

In minute doses its good for your brain. I'm talking one hit or less per day, not even enough to feel it but it does wonders for the viability of your brain cells.

uhh, doing nothing all day is great if you have the free time as long as you do it in moderation just like everything else. no one wants one thing to consume their entire lives, unless they're like autistic or something

Its the greatest plant on earth. Theres nothing has clean and pure as a good weed high. Its medicinal, fun, and everything it should be
